in the midst of my watch through of mint (which is fucking brilliant) i’ve had charlotte regan on my mind so revisiting this felt like a no brainer. such a wonderful piece of cinema that felt even more emotionally resonant despite me knowing the punches it would pull. so fun and full of life and handles its melancholy with colour and laughter without shying away from the sadness. so damn good

what an incredible emotional gut punch of a film. such a restrained and incredibly composed debut feature that feels like it came from a director who has done 10 features, not 1. thea gajic is a worldbuilder!! incredible performances (slavko and olive wow!!), gorgeous cinematography (olan man!!) and an ending frame that has not left my mind for a week now- this is such a stunner of a film and everyone needs to see it.
