I enjoyed parts of this film, however it felt like it was a big budget student film.

The film dragged in areas and at times emotionally one note and I was waiting for “that thing”, but the pay off didn’t quite hit.

That being said, I do like Barker’s style and believe he has potential, so we’ll see how he continues to develop.

I hate to be that guy, but I left the cinema incredibly disappointed.

Were there some cool shots and moments, yes. But other than that nothing happened; there was no conflict, no momentum,

If this is being held as a defining moment for African cinema, we need to have a serious conversation.
