I didn’t feel emotionally connected to any of the characters in this film, but I feel like the goal of it was exactly that. I also feel like the interesting stylized camerawork didn’t add much to the narrative. I am absolutely astounded by the power of this film. When I go into a movie, what I look for the most is mood, atmosphere, and passion. All of those are ever-present here, on top of so much more. Fear of death overcome by love of life and oneself. This is such a huge movie. I didn't know what I was getting into when I started this, but it floored me by its immense beauty.
