The family stuff is what elevates it past mediocre.

Wasn’t a fan of the multiple timelines going on in Dunkirk, but I really enjoy the way it was presented here. The way Nolan uses black and white to portray the objective and color for the subjective is very cool. The sound design though is what made the movie for me; that gymnasium scene was terrifying.

Absolute dogshit of a movie. Would have turned it off ten minutes in if I wasn’t watching it with other people. I blame my cousin for introducing me to this.

The power of love could have cone off as cheesy or overly preachy, but it really worked for me. I think its probably a combination of Matthew McConaughey’s acting and Hans Zimmer’s brilliant score that really keeps the movie from being emotionally detached. The visuals were exquisite and often made me wonder how the hell they did that. It did start to bore me with the Matt Damon conflict, but it pulled me back in with the trippy library scene, that did make me cry. This one feels very different than others in Nolan’s discography, and I like it.
