A lot of my favorite kind of bullshit in this one. Love the tune-yards-does-Danny-Elfman soundtrack, all the color, lakeith bits, claymation!!! It has its flaws but I think it’s good we have a wide release movie that’s fun to watch that also explicitly shows people a potential way to build a political movement.

Look the reason people bitch about Lynch films is because you need to take a shroom trip “go downstream” approach when you watch them, yes I realize how annoying I sound 

Lowkey has similar themes and ideas to black swan, but black swan is SO voyeuristic and inland empire is very empathetic.

Thought the final act fell apart a bit (but I admittedly don’t like musicals and don’t know Oklahoma, maybe there’s some meaning I missed?) but I LOVED the first 3/4ths of it. the constantly shifting dialogue and facts felt like a dream put to film. The bit about acquiescence and the reluctance to say no hit very close to home.
