A sumptuous feast. Too many little things to mention, but want to highlight Leo plugging his phone into like 30 different outlets as he gets dragged from place to place.

Was this good? I don't know. Did I have fun watching it? Yes. A very similar movie to Longlegs at the end of the day, but this felt more tonally consistent. A few generally scary images, headlined by Benedict Wong (?!). Some very, very, very on-the-nose stuff to let you know that it's aBOUT PARASITES. Pretty strong allegory for living with alcoholism in the family. Pretty weak allegory in other places. Like The VVitch, probably best to just have the lesson be, "Don't live near a Witch."
Alright, so the script is bad, often quite bad. ScarJo comes in lukewarm with a top shelf phone-it-in performance. Movie probably should've just been about the family that gets stranded on the island and not the world's stupidest McGuffin. HOWEVER, there are a lot of dinosaurs, just out doing dinosaur things. Scenes that don't have to have dinosaurs just have some dinosaurs in them, because this is a dinosaur movie. After the last few movies that either seem to hate…
