The opening with Megaleg was one of the best openings I've ever seen in a movie. But the main character, Mario, has no arc. Literally just saves another princess. It feels like he's just along for the ride. And I feel like Chris Pratt was better in the first one? Like, he's going in and out of…
Since things were clearly shuffled around a bit for dramatic effect, I'll try not to judge this on how true to life it is because it's impossible to know for sure.
So was it entertaining? Yeah kinda. I enjoyed the first half, where Hitch is more of a sly calculating villain a lot more.
In the second half they try to make him sympathetic, which doesn't work. And he becomes very overt and some of these subtlety of his creepiness is lost.
A lot funnier and more camp than I thought it was going to be, and it's kind of refreshing. There's not much of an ending, but hey, the kills were super entertaining and over the top.

My biggest concern going into this movie was how strong the character writing was going to be, since the likes of Peter Tench and Marv from the web series are more like avatars than real characters. I'm happy to report that the characters are actually one of the strengths of this film.
