Being too generous with my stars here, but I enjoyed this movie. It was certainly creative, but left me wanting and a little unsatisfied. It’s less scary and more creepy. I appreciate that it takes a note from the Shining and attempts to stage scares in complete brightness. Whether it’s as effective is another story…
It also proves the meme that Gen Z only knows how to write “therapy stories.”
There is a haunted house set piece with a Christmas Tree that I found pretty fun. Would love to see more young people’s imagination on the screen.
