Rawr!

So the last time I weighed in on the WiiFit scale was 120 days ago. End of November. I weighed 154.8 lbs, according to the little creepy squeaking device.

I finally got up the nerve to turn it on again today (with the sound off - I swear it sounds like it's looking up my skirt every time I step on it), and weighed at ...

146.4 lbs.

That'd be a loss of 8.4 pounds in three months. I'm pretty happy right now. (: That was over Thanksgiving and Christmas. It also explains why I was STARVING off and on throughout late January and early February ... I think maybe my metabolism re-settled at a higher point.

WiiFit still wants me to lose another 10 pounds. I figure that's an admirable goal, but right now, I'm going to celebrate getting back to where I was two years ago. Hooray. (:

I'm still basically doing what I was doing -- hockey two or three times a week, DDR once or twice a week, shovelglove or stretches or calisthenics two or three times a week. I'm really happy to know that it's working.

Also -- I managed to pass my first two songs on Heavy this week. All in all, a fine week for fitness.

Stuff

I realized it's been a while since I've posted about exercise and stuff. Partially, that's because I was on my feet about 10 hours a day during the holidays, and I figured that was plenty. (;

But the holidays are over, and I'm back to semi-regular routine. I've added another night of hockey, so it's now Friday night pickup, Sunday morning pickup, Monday night league. Not bad.

I determined that too much DDR was wreaking havoc on my knees, sadly. /: I have cut down the amount, and now play one or two times a week. At least I have more hockey to take over that spot. I'm mildly disturbed that goaltending seems to be easier on the knees than DDR. On the bright side, cutting down actually seems to be improving my DDR game, as I seem to be doing better every time I play now.

On the days when I'm not playing hockey or DDR, I'm doing shovelglove. Right now, that's about twice a week. I'm wondering if I ought to up the time or go with light weight/more reps, as I seem to be getting exercise but don't feel like I'm building muscle at all. Or maybe I really should just try to do it five days a week in addition to the other exercise. I don't know. /:

Anyway, that's the state of affairs there. I haven't bothered to weigh myself recently, but I did notice the other day that my legs feel thinner, which was pretty cool.

So ...

No DDR so far this week. /: I wasn't feeling good in my groin and right knee on Friday, recovered enough to play hockey on Sunday, and managed to pull something in my left knee on Sunday. D'oh. Also been feeling little tweaks in the right knee off and on. Nothing super-nasty, just occasional flashes of "ow" that are enough to be annoying.

So I've been trying to take it easy on my knees this week. Mainlining glucosamine and chondroitin, and picked up some calcium/magnesium tablets. No DDR, which is knee-intensive, even if you're playing on your toes (which I do). I've been really busy the past couple days, so I actually haven't had much exercise at all. *looks embarrassed* This is totally not the time of the year for that either.

I grabbed my sledgehammer this evening and did about twenty minutes of shovelglove. That felt good. I tried to take it easy on my knees and did mostly OK with that. I really should make a point of doing shovelglove more often ... I need some upper-body work, and it beats going to the gym hands-down.
