OK. So.

I have finally gotten the Modbook set up, migrated, and even, with meiczyslaw's help, managed to get the easel set correctly for it, I think.

This toy is pretty sweet. The only problem (and it's minor at that) is that I'm having a slow connection with the wireless keyboard while it's doing a massive Time Machine backup. (First backup. Ergo, massive.)

What's even cooler is that I think with the easel, I can run both the tablet and the keyboard at the same time, possibly without too much arm stress. Which means that power-user me is quite, quite happy.

Now I just have to get things started for New Year. And maybe see if this thing supports rotation. I think it does. (Edit: It will on the Windows side but not on the Mac, because it's based on a Macbook, and Apple doesn't think Macbooks rotate. Oh well! I'll live.)

(no subject)

0. Huh? They sent me two pens.

1. SWEEEEET.

2. OK, tappy-tappy for typing for now ... ah, there's Inkwell, and there's Quickclicks. Must download QuickScript.

3. Sketching is niiiice.

4. WHO HID MY HARD DRIVE? Oh, there it is. Stupid new preferences in Snow Leopard. *reinstates HD on desktop where it belongs*

5. Gonna have to figure out how to transfer all the old stuff onto the new machine ... that's OK.

6. I must erase too lightly or something.

Anyway ... so far, it's pretty darn cool. I am looking forward to showing it off to the localpeoples. I also need to install a Windows partition and get myself a keyboard so I can play Uru.

Addendum: Well, rats. It appears I may have to send it back. ): The computer is running fine off the wall, but isn't charging the battery. I need to reset the PRAM, which I can't do without a keyboard, which I was going to get anyway, so ... yeah.

So that's where I'm at right now ... computer's cool, computer's b0rked. Dang it.

Two things.

One: my ModBook is arriving tomorrow. SWEEEEET.

Two: Myst Online: Uru Live just started up again. Today.

Talk about perfect timing. *does the Snoopy dance*

(OK, so I'll have a higher KI number this time than I did last time ... oh well, I think I'll survive!)

I am typing this on a very tiny keyboard ...

... because meiczyslaw gave my my birthday present a little early.

SquEEE!

Its name is Cookie. And I have to give huge thanks to meiczyslaw, who spent the past 18 hours or so getting all the updates squared away and figuring out how to get it to talk to the Time Machine. He rocks. He is awesome. He is wonderful.

The Eee's pretty cool, too. <3

It's a PCEee, but I have the sneaky suspicion that at some point we may get another one and Hackintosh it up. It's a great little machine.

Now I just have to figure out how to get Uru and Creatures on it.

... and keep it from dropping off the 'net about every ten minutes. /: PCs and AirPorts ... always tricky. meiczyslaw says he still has some ideas.

YAY!

I have my computer back. (:

The nice folks at Apple replaced its logic board and it is all happy now. This is excellent; I wasn't anticipating getting it back before Thursday at the earliest. (:

I have lots of stuff to scan and color, and screenshots to take of my website so I can send them in for professional tickets to ComicCon. Happy, happy happy.

Argh.

I am posting this from the iPod, as I managed to break my computer.

Estimated time to fix: two to four days.

And here I was trying NOT to stress out about work.

[Edit] Now posting from the old iBook. Have installed old CreativeSuite and tablet. Still horrifically stressed out and worried about my Mac, but at least I can work if I want to. I will probably spend the next couple days doing more sketches and maybe working on Winterside merchandise. (Never mind that no one's buying Autumnside merchandise, anyway. q: )
