I desperately need to distract myself from work and other things that are bothering me, and thus, I give you linkspam.

Cut as it's on the long side. Trilly, Conficer, NOM, teabagging, cuteness, disasterporn, pirates, ATM skimmers, and recylcing away! )

In conclusion, I am totally singing "Rebel Yell" like this:

Lightning Storm Generated by Chilean Volcano. Mother of Guxx, look at that picture. It's gorgeous. There's incredible beauty in the fury of Mother Nature.

6.8 earthquake shakes Tokyo and the death toll from Cyclone Nargis may top 100,000. Okay, between the volcano, the earthquakes, and the cyclone, I'm starting to get a little nervous here.

Your Friends Are Not Watching the Same Show You Are (And That's Okay). AKA Flame Wars Over Shows Are Stupid. (Unless it's me flaming the writers of Charmed. That's Okay.)

This one's on the NSFW-side. UnderGear: No Boxers, No Briefs... From The People Who Brought You International Male. Mom, you'll want to check this out. As will anyone who wants to ogle men modeling underwear. I think I can tell one guy's religion. . . .

'Breakthrough' at Stonehenge dig: The team has reached sockets that once held bluestones - smaller stones, most now missing or uprooted, which formed the site's original structure. The researchers believe that the bluestones could reveal that Stonehenge was once a place of healing. The dig is the first to take place at Stonehenge for more than 40 years. The team now needs to extract organic material from these holes to date when the stones first arrived. EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.

Westboro Baptist gets Rick Roll'd -- beautiful.

Speaking of rickrolls, the attempt by the internet to rickroll the Mets was successful! However, the Mets are going to have a revote. Spoilsports. ;)

The most prominent independent hurricane forecaster in the United States is predicting an Atlantic hurricane season "well-above average." 15 named storms, eight of them hurricanes, with half of those hurricanes reaching "major" strength of Category 3 or above predicted.

New planet found in Leo. Spanish and UCL (University College London) scientists have discovered a possible terrestrial-type planet orbiting a star in the constellation Leo. The new planet, which lies at a distance of 30 light-years from Earth, has a mass five times that of our planet but is the smallest found to date. One full day on the new planet would be equivalent to three weeks on Earth.

US doctors have carried out what is believed to be the world's first simultaneous six-way kidney transplant. This is awesome. Six people needed kidneys. Five had family members that were willing to donate, but didn't match their loved one. A stranger offered up a kidney and matched one patient. That patient's loved one matched another patient. That patient's loved one matched another. Right on down the line.

A Finnish tourist who chipped an ear off one of Easter Island's world-famous statues has been fined $17,000 (£8,500) and told to stay away for three years. Banned for life would be more appropriate.
