I think this was really good! It was an interesting take on the theme and I thought the lil toy was super cute. Would love if you continued this and maybe made each level a bit more colorful, or like the end sequence be colorful? I think it all looks good I just feel like toys are "bright and colorful" so the very grey pallet left me feeling like it was a very sad lil toy. Maybe it is, maybe that's the theme you want idk, I think either way is good, just an idea. Hope you had a fun game jam! <3

(1 edit)

This the best visual novel I've ever played!  It was a great first one and I genuinely think you made an amazing game, it was funny but had a good message too behind it. I hope you had the best time making it and a good game jam all around! <3

I've already seen a couple games like this where the level "spins" but this one does it really well! A lot of others left me feeling dizzy but the fixed screen makes it better. It's very simple but the puzzle complexity increasing with each level was nice. It didn't feel "too easy" but also not too hard, which is good because I tend to not enjoy these types of games just because it wont hold my attention for to long. You managed to add in mechanics with each level making the "Aha!" moment of solving them feel super nice and deserved. Using the enemies to hit the buttons was a really fun addition, and I loved trying to get them all shoved into one corner just to see what would happen. I liked the art style and music a lot, both simple but cute! I think you did really well and I can tell you've got some good experience under your belt from previous jams (the simple tutorial, increasing in difficulty, unique solutions) these little details add up and make your game feel very polished even as simple as it is. I really enjoyed it over all, great job to you and the rest of your team and I hope yall had a fun game jam <3

This was really cute and fun! I checked out what it was inspired by, I think your team did a great job redesigning it for the jam <3 I think the only thing I would have liked is a "timer" for each of the shops like the original had, for the simple fact of making it easier to figure out timing. I know you comment that you're not good at drawing but I thought the art was really cute, maybe simple but enough to understand what was what. I had to reload the first time I played, I got stuck not being able to move anyone anywhere no matter what I tried, I'm not sure what caused it but closing out/reloading seemed to fix it. I think what y'all made is awesome and I hope you all had a fun game jam <3

This is very silly serious and fun, and I really liked the graphics/animations there were. i think it was a very ambitious project to do in a week long stint, but you did very good for what you got in!
The sound was lil all over the place I'd either have it turned down where I could only hear the attacks/dialogue with no music, or if I had it turned up to where I could hear the music then the sfx would blast my eardrums. I'd highly recommend equalizing it a bit more, if you intend to polish it up after the jam.
Someone else already noted that there's no on screen tip for strategy, but I think another thing that could help is having a sort of health pickup that could help mitigate some of the damage as well. All in all it's a very fun experience and I think you did great, hope you had a fun game jam! <3

This is a really cool idea! I could see how this could grow into a really in depth game with lots of complex interactions. There's no audio but that doesn't take away from the simple but cute graphics and what game play is here. I hope you add more onto it in the future, I think you did a really good job!

Definitely an interesting take on "spin to win" I think that for your first game this is really good! The controls were simple/easy to understand even without any tutorial. I think the art style was cool, though low res that may have been what you were going for. Over all I think you did a great job and I hope you had/have a fun game jam! <3

This was really in depth for how little time you had to do it, I was really shocked! I really enjoyed just everything about this, the art style is unique and fun, the dialogue silly so serious, and the mechanics felt so nice. I think I just have bad luck because I ran out of health very easily and was not getting very many potions even though I would spend a lot on block, maybe I should have went the glass canon route lol You did a great job and it was a lot of fun to play!

I mean what can I say that others haven't, this was a short and enjoyable experience, I loved all the little visitors and seeing their sprites change. The music was A+++ choice as well. I think you made EXACTLY the kind of game this jam needed. Amazing 10/10, and HAPPY PRIED <3

This was a very unique and serious take on "Spin to Win" I love the message behind the entire theme as well. The dialogue was written well, lots of interesting topics and funny response options as well. The art was simple but really effective and I liked all the animations/changes in the background, especially the little protestor signs, so cute lol Overall I think you did a great job!

Cool idea, it felt simple but effective! I will say I found a bug/exploitable that idk if it was intended or not, you can load your clothes in and "reset" the health of the items, which made it very easy to get through each level without a bad day lol I would love to see a timer for each machine instead of having to just guess how much time it would take each load since it's such a short time frame. Every day I'd think I'd have enough time to do one more load in one of my fastest machines and they would end up still going when they day ended. The art style while simple, really drove home the seriousness factor, and I liked the audio but "pop" of adding/removing laundry was a lot louder than the bell/washers, and it would have been nice if they were a little more equalized. Turning it up made the pop too loud but turning it down made the bell very quiet, not super important but just a nice update if you ever plan to mess with it again in the future. The mechanics are solid and it was fun overall, you did an awesome job!

The visuals/animations were simple but oh so cute, I like the cartoonish vibe and reminded me of old NES style games. Boss fights we fun and simple but the lack of on on screen instructions for controls at the start confused me at first. I didn't read the page and didn't even realize I could interact with the NPCs until my partner told me while watching me play, I just guessed the controls outside of dialogue like the flashlight since I didn't actually talk to the NPC next to it until after I figured that out. Same with the rocks I just guessed the distance when holding down for longer would hopefully increase since the first shots weren't anywhere close to the target.
The music was very on cute and I liked sounds you had for the attacks as well!

I think this was really good but didn't fit the theme of "Spin to Win" much beyond being able to avoid the attacks by "spinning" around them, otherwise I really liked it over all and think it's a good jumping off point and would play it again when the full version comes out!

I'm gonna be honest, I couldn't figure out how to not get the failure ending lol I don't really play gambling games but I also just didn't see any kind of informational UI, that could just be a me a thing though idk. That being said I definitely think it's a unique take on then theme and I could see this being fun and silly  serious! I liked the artwork and the poems/spells dialogue too, good job!

As someone has already pointed out, the icon for releasing should be different. In the beginning I kept losing on the first one because I thought I had to click in time on each dot and kept dying, I thought I was just messing up the timing, that comment is what made me realize I played it wrong and gave it another try the correct way. I think the creativity and theme were there though and the audio! I liked the art style and thought it was cute, just a little difficult for me to get through at first. I think this is a really solid game and a good use of the idea "Spin to Win", good job all around!

This was super cute and fun! I did struggle getting from room to room, and got stuck because the camera would shift so jarringly, otherwise I think it was very solid. Your art was very charming and the animations though simple were really good imo. Great job all around!

Dark and moody vibes are good! There's very little spin to win but overall fun, I did run into a bug at some point and just lost my coins for no reason when I had a good bit saved up, very sad :( I like the artwork a lot though and the gameplay a lot, good job!

I don't understand football/soccer so I think the intricacies of the players/stats were lost on me a bit, that being said it was very easy to understand the gameplay loop. My favorite part was the dialogue in between matches and I liked the art style too, simple but effective! The humor of the game is a 10/10, and I'm not much for gambling but it was satisfying enough to play to win, it felt fairly easy to do so. I liked the sound design too, over all a good submission!

This was fun what I could see/get to, I kept running into a bug where randomly after clicking something (like going through the tutorial and moving a planet) the entire screen would go black and not allow any input causing me to reload the page and starting over from the beginning. I couldn't seem to get past the tutorial shop phase without that happening sadly. That being said I loved the art style and thought it was really cute and like the sound design a lot as well! I think the idea is solid and your team did a good job over all <3

Vampires? Gothic style? Memory loss mystery?? Sign me up!  I'll be honest I suck at platformers, so I struggled, but overall the game play felt solid and the storytelling was nice. I liked the art style/animations a lot as well! The music in the bg was appropriate, only wish there was some feedback/sound when dying. I think the spinning of the map to move around was very interesting as well, I think you did a good job and was nice to play!

LOVED the art style! Sound design is phenomenal as well, the dialog is also very funny. Overall I loved the entire vibe and think your team did an amazing job!

The art/animation is phenomenal and I liked the sound design a lot! It took me a minute to figure out the keys for "turning" or that the whole map was supposed to spin, I just assumed I was bad at the platforming and kept dying on the spikes lol Overall though I think this is a great submission and you did a really good job! Hope you had a fun game jam <3

The little tutorial area was very nice and intuitive, and the sound design was very nice! I loved the eerie vibe of the music in the bg and the sound when you died/paused was satisfying. The art and animation was very clean and cute, lended well to the spooky vibes! I did struggle with the controls, p just felt odd, but got used to it after a bit. Over all I think this was really unique/good and I hope you had a great jam!

I really like the old-school arcade art style and feel, it's also a lot of fun to shoot wildly and see how long you survive without any directional input beyond shooting. You did a great job!

I really liked the level and art design! The animation for the running/riding was very cartoonish in a way that I appreciated. I struggled a bit with getting the yo-yo to actually work the way I felt like it should, most of the time just killed the momentum instead of making it feel more dynamic, probably more user error than anything. When I could get it timed right it felt nice and fun though. The music and sound design is also really nice! Great submission and hope you had a great jam!

This was fun and very silly serious! Super easy to understand what was going on/happening, and I like the color scheme you have going on as well. I loved the bouncing of the enemies back into you/the wall, felt very nice, would have liked if the solid walls without spikes gave a lil bounce too, just for funsies. I know you didn't have time for the AI but it was really nice even without the enemies moving, it felt like a good first "tutorial" level and if you continue this project in the future I'd definitely check it out again! Overall a short and fun little jaunt, good submission and I hope you had a fun game jam <3

Nice overall! I liked the art style a lot, especially the explosion of the enemies, and the sound design was really fun imo. Moving around felt a little awkward at first and started it off slow, but after a minute it wasn't so bad once I got used to it and the enemies started spawning faster. The UI even without an explanation was pretty easy to catch on to in regards to health/shields. Good submission!

Gun safety is a very serious topic and perfectly appropriate for this game jam! I'll be honest I'm not best with rythym games, so I struggled a little but it was fun and I really liked the art and overall idea. I struggled with getting the web version to play, so I downloaded it instead, that made it work easily with no issues! Very juicy game, poor Wadson though, I think he needs some TLC after this lol

Thank you for noticing so many of the little details we added and you called it, I used Fukawa as my inspo for Mommy Nature xD I wanted her to be very expressive/animated and felt like that was a good jumping off point! I hope in a future update I can render her better and make a full sprite sheet, just ran out of time and had to limit to three poses lol

We appreciate you checking out our game and I hope you had a fun time <3

I love that all the Danganronpa fans have recognized immediately the inspiration for the poses xD I wanted to do a full sprite sheet but alas I ran out of time and needed to focus on coding/bug fixing other stuff so maybe in a future update that tongue will come into play lol

Thank you for checking out our game and I'm glad you had some fun playing <3

Great minds think alike, from one tornado submission to another, I think you did an awesome job! Over all I think this is a great jumping off point and I really liked the mechanics. It was very simple controls, easy to catch on to, I really liked the progression of the "levels" and was very satisfying when you grew better/faster/stronger.

The only thing I'll note is that I accidentally fell off the map entirely the first time I loaded in, and from your screenshots I can tell there's supposed to be 2 UI buttons on the screen but mine just showed a purple box with the Gdevolop logo in it. Otherwise,  great submission and I hope you had a fantastic game jam <3

Fun and interesting idea! The artwork is very clean and the gameplay loop was easy to catch on to. The panning over was a little tedious, especially when going for the end game which took a bit, otherwise a satisfying loop! I found it to be fun and silly  serious to play, good job and hope you had a good game jam <3

Thank you for pointing out the audio, we got it fixed! Also thank you for all your kind words and good criticism, we tried to fix what we could before the bug deadline, hope it's a more enjoyable experience all around <3
