Thank you! Glad you enjoyed! Yes this is my first game I have made and posted to the public. I have made some small games for assignments through for classes at my university, but those usually followed prompts and preset codes. This is the first one I had the freedom to make whatever I wanted and actually pour my skills I have learned from programming, concept art, and 3D modeling to make something cool. I'm happy you like the characters. I hope to add more in the future and hopefully get some dialogue in, even if its just little quips and voice lines. And yes, Rascal is likely the toughest opponent, but he also has very low health, you must take him down before he hits you with the Rascal Death Spiral :D
The visuals are so great, love all the drawings. The Hamster models are so cute. You should totally add like and upgrade tree or something to deepen the gameplay. Also id suggest making it more clear when you put a sibling to bed, like how there is a prompt for grab I felt there should be one for "put to sleep" or something. Fun Game overall!
Love the art style and the music is great. I wish it taught you a bit more how to play before throwing you straight in. Took me over halfway through the song to figure out how to hit notes (could be skill issue that I didn't read but I didn't see the text box in the bottom right, and even after I didn't fully know what it meant until a bit of trial and error). But nonetheless, I love the concept and Reggie is adorable
Thanks for Playing! When you run out of cards it does warn you to draw more, I just felt it adds more immersion to the game. All cards are sorted into different categories and I plan to add a feature where if you have an abundance of one category in your hand then it will give you something different to help prevent you from only getting healing cards when you don't need them or only damage cards when you're on the brink of death. I tossed a discard mechanic around in my head for a bit because it would be helpful, just thinking of the fairest way to implement it. And I do have plans for cards to effect wheel luck ;)
Such a creative concept. Nice art. Super fun idea to twist the news around. Really have it out for Hyneman. It would be neat if you had a little box for conjunctions and adverbs to help build more sentences with good grammar as sometimes you get really limited, especially if you are trying to fit the prompt
Thanks for playing! Glad you enjoyed! Great feedback as well. After many playtests and run throughs of the game you can definitely get cooked by the enemy overhealing, but in some cases that's just the Luck of the game. I have thought about adding some sorts of healing reduction to specific characters, namely strong man as you deal less damage to him but he heals fully (1 step forward 2 steps back), but then there are cases where you get a good hand and he doesn't and you beat him up. Of course, in that case there isn't much control in the player, but I also feel that when I implement more cards with unique effects, the card pool will be more diverse and overhealing won't be as much an issue. A tutorial fight Is absolutely something I would like to add, I just didn't have the time for the jam. (You're telling me people DON'T want to read the super lengthy clearly exaggerated binding contract that signs your life away to the wheel ;)
Thanks for your feedback! Happy you enjoyed! I do have plans to implement sort of a Luck system that can be influenced by cards to get better wheel spins...or even curse your opponents. I will definitely make it more clear on what the enemies do while playing, I also plan to implement the Codex which tells you exactly what that do.
Sometimes you can get Lucky sometimes you can't. I agree that the wheel and cards can feel separated at times but the wheel is meant to work as a risk to try and get ahead if your cards aren't playing out. I have ideas for future cards/wheel outcomes that can shake up the game a lot and feel more connected
