I am way too exhausted to play more games, but Iโm looking at your screenshots and gifs, yand I love so much how the artstyle matches instruction books for laundry machines and the like. It makes me very curious.
25/25 this is perfect simple = serious is exactly what the art style is I love it so much the game sounds for having no music carries it self all the way my favorite of the whole jam. <3
Really cool Concept, but also really difficult. That said, I never managed to get past Round 4.
The Art Style is Simple which I kinda like here!
possibly the most serious thing ive played so far. it does get a bit overwhelming by wave four tho but i still liked it! good job
Really hit the nail with the "serious" theme here. Gameplay was simple to understand and fun. The upgrades gave depth to the gameplay which really added to the experience, good job! Some of the audio was a little off here and there, I felt that the running sound effect was too loud sometimes, but other than that no complaints.
Thank you for playing!
This game has serious style. I like its restrained presentation, very classy! And the gameplay loop is cool too - at least when I am not failing at it hopelessly.
With that said, the balance felt a bit too hard to my taste; I was never able to get a "good day" and always got game over on the second round. It may have something to do with how the game lagged a little bit in my browser, though.
Thank you for playing, sorry to hear you found it challenging and for the performance issues.
This was so fun! I loved the sound effects and the serious tone of the... narrator? The way the base played whenever text was on the screen felt very reminiscent of Inscryption! As for the gameplay, I loved it, but I think there might be some balancing issues - I completely forgot that I could pause the game, and without it, I found Day 5 completely impossible, but once I realised that I could pause, I easily made it to the end of Day 10. I wonder if pausing could be a temporary thing - maybe a power-up you buy in-between rounds, or a button (with a cooldown period) you can press if you're getting overwhelmed? That way people like me can't just cheese our way to later days by pausing whenever a new load came in ^^;;
Thanks you for playing, glad you liked it! Really happy you saw the Inscryption inspiration with the text :) Some good suggestions about pausing here. I agree that game doesn't scale very well into the later rounds (hence why I decided to make 6 the "last" round and then give the player endless if they want to keep going) so I cooldown might be a good idea. Ultimately I added it because having it be real time all the time turns it less into a game of strategy and more into how fast you can put the laundry in lol. But I'm sure there's a happy medium between the two. Thanks again for playing, and for your feedback! ๐
Very addicting game ! I managed to make a pretty game breaking(?) combo where I was finishing days with 20s in advance. I would've liked something to encourage finishing everything early but maybe with the coin upgrade that could also be a problem. The only way I lost was by NOT pausing the game, I didn't do any juggling at all, I personally found the game very easy with the pause but it's borderline impossible without it so maybe it's a bit more challenging to balance it out. Some way to reset the shop so I could spend all my money too, lol. I didn't find the color bonus that impactful so I ignored it most of the time, maybe it was because of the build I had going on though.
I really liked the game ! The UI animations were also pretty cool, the artstyle is simple but it works very well with the game. The sound effects were pretty good too, maybe just the washing machine noise got a little bit tiring after a bit. Awesome stuff !
Thanks for playing! I agree it can get a little easy in the later rounds if you've got a good setup. Getting $1000 is very impressive! I think the game does struggle to scale a little bit into these late rounds, which is why I only added endless as an option if someone wanted to keep playing. Glad you liked it overall though, thanks again for playing!
Dudeee, How did you managed to turn laundry into a fun activity? I love this game. I also liked that you added an endless mode into it.
Thanks! Glad you liked the endless mode too :)
Great game concept, I was surprised how fun doing laundry can be. The minimalistic bass sound effects were funny yet elegant and gave the game a very cool vibe. I personally found the laundry shuffling feature to be a bit stressful because its still possible even in the later stages just more tedious. I had a hard time ignoring the slight advantage it can give, even though it got annoying after a while. Not a huge deal but depending on how other people feel, maybe removing it might be better after all. Only real issue I had was in the later stages it was hard to keep track of everything with the scrollbar interface. If you're planning on updating this I think an interface with a better overview could really elevate this to a crazy addictive arcade game.
All in all, Wow great job!! Very Serious :)
Thank you for playing! I can definitely understand how shuffling the laundry in and out of the machines can feel like an obligation if you're a player that likes to min-max everything. I also agree that the game struggles to scale a bit and that the UI could probably change to support that in the later rounds. With this being a jam game, I thought the scroll bar was the easiest and hopefully most efficient solution there. Thank you for your feedback! ๐
Nice! I've seen this sort of game a few times (e.g. with washing dishes) but this is a good implementation of the idea while adapting it to the theme. Not being able to advance the tutorial text irked me to the point of not realising I could load the machines while paused (I thought that was reserved for only the start of each day), so I struggled for a little while, but completed it comfortably with pausing. It also would've been nice to have a list somewhere of the combinations (as you found them if you still wanted the player to experiment) as that would've helped with planning. But like I said before, nice job! :D
Metagame cog 98/126
Thanks! Sorry to hear about the tutorial. It was my first time making one in a jam game and I spent a lot of timing fussing over it, perhaps I underestimated how much work it was and should have fully committed to a proper dialogue interface or something. For the combinations I wanted them to remain a bit of a mystery and hopefully have the player infer them by logic and also a bit of experimentation. Though, having a list of bonuses as you found them would be a cool idea! Thanks again for playing, and good luck in your quest for the metagame cogs! ๐ช
Cool idea, it felt simple but effective! I will say I found a bug/exploitable that idk if it was intended or not, you can load your clothes in and "reset" the health of the items, which made it very easy to get through each level without a bad day lol I would love to see a timer for each machine instead of having to just guess how much time it would take each load since it's such a short time frame. Every day I'd think I'd have enough time to do one more load in one of my fastest machines and they would end up still going when they day ended. The art style while simple, really drove home the seriousness factor, and I liked the audio but "pop" of adding/removing laundry was a lot louder than the bell/washers, and it would have been nice if they were a little more equalized. Turning it up made the pop too loud but turning it down made the bell very quiet, not super important but just a nice update if you ever plan to mess with it again in the future. The mechanics are solid and it was fun overall, you did an awesome job!
Thanks for playing! Shuffling the laundry by loading them in and out of the machine was 100% intended so I'm happy you've figured it out. ๐ I found it early on in development and decided that it's both a neat thing to reward advanced play and also not the be all and end all if a player does exploit it, since the technique is not very scalable in the later rounds when you have more laundry than you do empty slots.
I considered adding a timer on each machine, but I wanted to create a little bit of anticipation for the scenarios that you're describing, where you're not quite sure if you have enough time before the end of the day or not. At least you get paid a little bit for those that aren't finished ๐
Sorry to hear about the sound balance wasn't quite right - certainly the result of it being a jam game lol. Phaser also doesn't give you the most amount of options for that kind of thing... or at least maybe I don't leverage it enough if it does ๐
Thanks again for playing, and for your feedback!
cool idea, and the style is simple but enjoyable :) great job!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! :)
love this simple idea, kind of addicting
Thank you for playing!
love this idea - so simple yet so creatively implemented.
Thanks!
Great idea, very well done. The upgrades at the end of the day are a cool addition to it. Congratulations!
Thanks for playing, glad you were a fan of the upgrades! ๐
the minimalist look is very cool, and the upgrade system makes you think differently about how to handle the laundry. It's cool
Thank you for playing! Happy to hear you liked the upgrades and the art style ๐
