Thanks! Sorry to hear about the tutorial. It was my first time making one in a jam game and I spent a lot of timing fussing over it, perhaps I underestimated how much work it was and should have fully committed to a proper dialogue interface or something. For the combinations I wanted them to remain a bit of a mystery and hopefully have the player infer them by logic and also a bit of experimentation. Though, having a list of bonuses as you found them would be a cool idea! Thanks again for playing, and good luck in your quest for the metagame cogs! 💪

Thank you for playing! I can definitely understand how shuffling the laundry in and out of the machines can feel like an obligation if you're a player that likes to min-max everything. I also agree that the game struggles to scale a bit and that the UI could probably change to support that in the later rounds. With this being a jam game, I thought the scroll bar was the easiest and hopefully most efficient solution there. Thank you for your feedback! 🙏
Thanks for playing! I agree it can get a little easy in the later rounds if you've got a good setup. Getting $1000 is very impressive! I think the game does struggle to scale a little bit into these late rounds, which is why I only added endless as an option if someone wanted to keep playing. Glad you liked it overall though, thanks again for playing!
Thanks you for playing, glad you liked it! Really happy you saw the Inscryption inspiration with the text :) Some good suggestions about pausing here. I agree that game doesn't scale very well into the later rounds (hence why I decided to make 6 the "last" round and then give the player endless if they want to keep going) so I cooldown might be a good idea. Ultimately I added it because having it be real time all the time turns it less into a game of strategy and more into how fast you can put the laundry in lol. But I'm sure there's a happy medium between the two. Thanks again for playing, and for your feedback! 🙏
Thanks for playing! Shuffling the laundry by loading them in and out of the machine was 100% intended so I'm happy you've figured it out. 🙏 I found it early on in development and decided that it's both a neat thing to reward advanced play and also not the be all and end all if a player does exploit it, since the technique is not very scalable in the later rounds when you have more laundry than you do empty slots.
I considered adding a timer on each machine, but I wanted to create a little bit of anticipation for the scenarios that you're describing, where you're not quite sure if you have enough time before the end of the day or not. At least you get paid a little bit for those that aren't finished 😌
Sorry to hear about the sound balance wasn't quite right - certainly the result of it being a jam game lol. Phaser also doesn't give you the most amount of options for that kind of thing... or at least maybe I don't leverage it enough if it does 😅
Thanks again for playing, and for your feedback!
Wow, thank you for such a detailed comment 🙏 I'm glad you liked the game overall. I definitely agree with you feedback. Another commenter suggested that the washing machine timer be radial instead of wiping downwards which I think would have reinforced the theme a bit more and, as you say, have some kind of spinning visual. I also agree that the tail/end-game could be a little more detailed; I agree that a reroll/more choices in the shop probably would have helped there. I'm sorry to hear that you didn't get on with the audio. I tried to make it as "white-noise-y" as possible but I'm sorry to hear I didn't quite hit that zone for you in this regard. Thanks again for your feedback!
Hi there! Sorry for the confusion on this but there aren’t any tutorials beyond the first few minutes of the game. I think you might have ran into one of the lines about shuffling the laundry (moving laundry in and out of the machines to reset the timer) but it’s not necessary at all to progress or complete the game and is more of an advanced technique. The game plays as it normally does, round by round from start to finish. Hope that helps in your quest through the metagame 💪 And thank you for the kind words!
Thank you for playing and for the feedback. I completely understand wanting a little bit more adherence to the theme with this one. As I've mentioned in another comment, I like to see the theme as just the inspiration for making the game and go from there to make something more well-rounded rather than something that doesn't fit for the overall game, even if it adheres to the theme. Hopefully the idea itself is unique enough that there aren't any other games in the jam like it! 😅 Thanks again for playing!
Thank you for playing and for the kind words! With the visuals, I was deliberately trying to evoke more simplistic games such as Mini Metro, which is why I went with that art-style. It's also why I tried to focus more on the other aspects, such as the sound and the overall feel, which hopefully makes up for this simplicity. The choice of adherence to theme is a little bit more of a personal reason! I like to see the theme with game jams as more of the spark of inspiration rather than something I have to veer towards at all times and I'm usually happy to sacrifice a bit of that to make the game more well-rounded, though I totally get why you'd favour the opposite side of the spectrum. Thanks again for playing! 🙏
Hey, I'm sorry to hear you didn't vibe with the game as much as everyone else has. Perhaps you got a particularly bad roll with the shops as most of my play-testers were able to make it past round 6 after a couple of tries. You can also pause the game if you haven't taken advantage of that, which should give you enough time to deal with the laundry if your machines are good enough. Thank for you for playing, regardless! 😊
Thank you for playing! I agree that the game is definitely a little on the breezier size for people who know what they're doing - I was trying to aim a little lower on the difficulty side of things because of it being a jam game, where some players might not feel compelled to master all aspects. Really glad you enjoyed the game 🙏 Being finished with all waves with 20 seconds to spare is very impressive!
Thank you for playing! I totally get what you mean about the over-centralisation on pausing. Though it's necessary to make sure it's not just a twitch/mouse-execution game, I might have gone too far in the other direction for advanced players who were ahead the curve. This is why I chose only 6 rounds - I wanted players to have that high of an overpowered setup for long enough to feel good, but not too long to become boring, but a player who does well early on will be playing like that for a little longer than I'd like. Video games are very difficult to balance lol. Regardless, I'm glad you enjoyed it, thanks again for playing and for your feedback! 🙏
I like the concept, but I think there's a little too much going on for a jam game and too many ideas to keep track of. I think it would have been a little easier to parse if either the mouse combinations to shoot, the ammo crafting system or the reloading method was taken out. Any of these ideas might be fine in a full game that can expand on it, but they're all a little under-explored here. Still a great effort for only a week of development!
Thank you for the kind words! I definitely struggled a bit implementing the tutorial as I didn't have a proper dialogue system so had to leave more than enough time for players to read each line, but I can see how it would be a little confusing as to whether you'd be allowed to start or not if the text lingered for a little too long. Luckily you only need to see the tutorial once 😌 Thanks for playing!
Thank you for the kind words 😊 It's definitely tricky! I always try to either combine as many of the same colours or clothes as possible so I get enough money for the shop upgrades. Another tactic is to try to go for a full house (socks, shorts and shirts) as much as possible, since they have quite big payouts as well!
