Raphael is an archangel and the only one able to be on earth during Season 6 of Supernatural. Played by Demore Barnes originally and then returning in a different vessel, played by Lanette Ware, Raphael is the third of four archangels.
With Gabriel, Lucifer and Michael away from heaven, Raphael makes claim to being head of the table amongst the other angels. In turn he wants to restart the apocalypse, which results in a civil war, Castiel leading the way against him. Raphael sends numerous agents Dean and Sam as well, knowing that they were the reason the supposedly natural order of things had failed.
