Plz to be learning how to open a dictionary and look up words before telling us how to use the English language, kthnx.

shootout: a fight involving shooting small arms with the intent to kill or frighten

fight: a hostile meeting of opposing forces

massacre: kill a large number of people indiscriminately

This wasn't one man fighting again one man or against a group of people. This was one man slaughtering a bunch of people as they tried to run away from him. Shootout != massacre, nor is shootout > massacre. Crack open a history book and learn the difference between the Killing Fields and the Holocaust and, say, historical shootouts to learn the difference between a massacre and a shootout, and to learn that using the term 'massacre' is not dependant upon the number of people killed, so long as the number is greater than one (which is technically just murder). It actually is defined in other countries:

In Guatemala, where massacres of Maya Indians have been common, the human rights commission agreed on a specific definition: "A massacre shall be considered the execution of five or more people, in the same place, as part of the same operation and whose victims were in an indefensible state." In Colombia, the term is applied to the murder of half a dozen or more at one time. - definition of massacre on Wiki
