After a long, long flight, I've returned to Blighty from Australia for ten weeks or so. I and a friend are staying in static caravans (plural: we're not daft) not far from my old stamping grounds. I'm showing her the ropes, as she's never been to the Old Country before, and we're generally settling in and recovering, getting over jet lag, etc. In a few days we may even be functioning, though I wouldn't bet on it.

So far, it's been raining about half the time. 'Twas ever thus.

You missed the very hot, dry weather we had a week or two ago—it seems to be finally getting into autumn now, much to my relief.

Anyway—hello, and best wishes for a speedy recovery from jet lag!

Aw, I hope you do get to be functioning enough to appreciate being here. And it was very hot the other week, so you came at the right time for some proper rain and things instead. <3

Next to the Severn sounds pretty, although, yes, probably a lot more prone to rain than other places! (I am actually in the North East, although I did grew up in the Sw, and we did also have overnight rain here, too.)

But I like autumn here, so am looking forward to some nice colours on the trees, which we don't get down under.

Autumn can be so nice when it wants to be! I hope it obliges for you.

Welcome back! Hope the weather improves for you, the jet lag doesn't last too long, and you have lots of nice plans for your trip.

Oh, I hope you recover soon! What are your plans? Sadly I'm too far away to meet up.

I do agree that London was a pain when I was there--but also contained many things in which I was interested! And ooh, the Highlands. I will hold my thumbs for you, as we do in Sweden instead of crossing our fingers. : )
