Summer Playlist ’25

Hello!

We’ve started the autumnal season and I’m so happy!

I say that and our overall temperatures are in the mid-70’s; not to mention, I also have the intense aches and pains all over my body. Spring and fall always make me emotionally happy, but physically a nightmare.

How was your summer? Can you tell me you top 3 songs down in the comments? For me, summer wasn’t too bad. We didn’t have a pool, but my parents put up my tent to shield me from the annoying bugs so I can hang out with our cats and read Onyx Storm by Rebecca Yarros with my little table. I’m STILL reading it, so please no spoilers!

This was taken while it was sprinkling and three of our cats took refuge inside the tent. On the left side, you can see Grumpy. He is grey and white and fairly old but is the absolute sweetest boy. Midge and Nelson are somewhere behind me.

Let’s get into the playlist, shall we?

In general, the playlist has over 50 songs, but I am giving you my Top 20, and if you want to listen to the rest, you can click here. There are a lot of various genres included so I’m sure you’ll find something to entertain you.

As a goodbye to the previous season, I’m including my other summer playlists, and you can check them out whenever you want to. Enjoy!

June, July & August Playlists!

Hello!

Well, here I am.

Back on another Monday (I’m currently recovering for a stomach bug!) day to release my Spotify playlists of the last three months.

As we are now coming out of the summer months, I am changing my summer playlist like crazy. I’ve rearranged songs that I thought I would incorporate throughout the season, but then I’d take them out completely. I hope to have that out for you late September, but like with everything else, we’ll just have to see, and I hope you guys can wait for the right time.

I feel like as long as I continue to create the playlists, I will hopefully post them on here so everyone can hear something different and/or new. I haven’t listened to a lot of albums. I’d say around four at best. Sleep Token, Royale Lynn, Stray Kids, and one other that I can’t recall at the moment.

I don’t mean to leave you for basically two or three months and come back for a week, but at least it’s something, right? The links to each month’s playlist are attached to the covers. All right, I think it’s time to dive into the playlists. Enjoy!

I use the LibbyApp to listen to most of my audiobooks, but there was one on the list below that was found on YouTube with text at the bottom of the screen and the podcasts are available on Spotify and two of them have YouTube channels as well. I’ve added a (*) at the end of those on YT!

March, April & May Playlists

Hello!

This post is about ALL of the music I’ve consumed in the last three months. It’s been interesting to wonder what will continue to grow as anthems as summer approaches. I’ve thought about getting an early start on that playlist but I’m willing to wait a month or two.

As the weather changes and I’m able to go out on the back deck were our semi-feral cats hang out, I’ll be busy with them and my book, and have the opportunity to listen to whatever my dad wants to while doing garden work. There’s a lot of country and occasional Five Finger Death Punch. However, on Mother’s Day, he gave the connector to my mom, and she got to play her music. It’s funny to think my sister and I have influenced her music over the years. It’s a cluster of pop-rock, and some hip hop.

My nephew has also expanded his musical tastes in the last few months. I really adore when he comes over and says, “Aunt Meghan, I have a new favorite song!” I feel blessed when this happens. He knows I have made him a playlist of all the songs I knew he’s enjoyed since he was born, and every song he shares with me goes into that playlist and we listen to it quite a bit.

This past month he had his spring program at school, and he had told me beforehand what kind of songs he and his classmates would be doing, and he explained “Hakuna Matada” from The Lion King and Sia’s “Impossible”. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to go to the program, but mom came home with videos, and it was so precious! They did such a good job! They danced and belted out the course of Impossible as loudly as they could and I tried not to cry by it.

Here are my Top 20 for all three months.

I Come Alive by Dorothy
Maid of Lorraine by Leaves’ Eyes
The Wolves by State of Mine
Fxck Up The World by LISA featuring Future

Summer ’24 Playlist 🍦🥇

Hello everyone.

I’m so happy summer is over. I know I don’t talk a great deal about the music I enjoyed this year, but I want to save some things for the September playlist next week.

As much as I adore autumn, it’s usually a hit or miss for us where we live. We have been experiencing a lot of “Indian Summers” where the summer temperatures will creep back on us when we’re not looking; that’s when my chronic pain kicks up a few notches and I have to watch the trees change colors from my bedroom.

My mom and I have been looking forward to decorating the house for autumn/Halloween. She has really blossomed since having our new porch, as she bought these fake leaves garland to go along the rails and it looks so pretty. She had another wreath for the front, but she didn’t like how it turned out and I liked it with its quirky look, and it now hangs out on the backside of my door.

I have a special light, my dad made it for me a couple of years ago. I have used it in the past for Christmas decorations, but this year I really wanted to create something fun, and I was so excited to bring out my trustee orange and white plaid pumpkins with some family decor like a Halloween globe and little witch that tends to cause trouble every once in a while. My mom had a strand of garland left over and it fits beautifully up on the light.

The final addition are these medium sized lanterns, and they are so cute! They are black and have a little scene in the middle of a haunted house and tiny bats flying in the sky. They have a switch on the bottom and go perfectly with the vibe I wanted to create this year. They were priced nicely, better compared to the wreath I bought… It was such a pretty gothic wreath, but it didn’t want to stay up on the wall and it broke apart. My mom and I were so sad, but I am enjoying what I have in my room to celebrate the new season.

Now that I’m finished, let’s get into the summer playlist. The real reason why you’re here right? No big deal, I’m fine with it. However, I do want to give you a warning that there is a lot of K-Pop included in the 2024 Summer Playlist, so you may want to prepare yourself for this.

If you would like to listen to the whole playlist, click here.

I am still planning on releasing my September playlist next Monday, so that’s why I wanted to keep this on the shorter side. So, keep an eye out for that just in case all of the K-pop isn’t part of your style.

What were your Top 3 or 10 this summer?

July & August Playlist

Hello!

Does anyone get to the middle of a month and suddenly forget you haven’t switched to the next? I was so confused a couple of weeks ago, I almost gave you the Summer 2024 playlist. We even moved my calendar closer so I could get a feeling to blog and map out the scheduling and I still didn’t realize it. For some clarification, II do not publish until summer is officially over, which will happen on September 22nd, for any of my autumnal folks out there!

For today, I thought I would do what I did back in May and give you August’s top 20 and July, because since we went up north, we were all forced to listen to my sister’s music. She has pretty good music, but she likes the skip button just as much as I do! The thing was, every once in a while, we had to listen Cocomelon’s nursery rhymes for a good twenty minutes for Kimber… Thankfully, it wasn’t Blippi. I hated that guy when Nolan was her age. Now Nolan loves BMTH!

Anyways, here is what I was into for July. If you’d like to listen to the full playlist on Spotify, click here.

Sweet Escape by Alesso featuring Tove Lo
Body Say by Demi Lovato

Chk Chk Boom by Stray Kids
Can U See Me In The Dark by Halestom x I Prevail
I Will Not Bow by Breaking Benjamin
Unfolding by Luca Fogale
Deal With It by Ashnikko featuring Kelis
Hurricane by BADVILLAIN

Whenever we start on another year or slide into August, I tend to dive into the nostalgic pool for a while. In the last couple of years, I have found a way out of this habit and exchange it with the current aesthetic playlists I’m creating for a certain book. I’ve finally stopped with The Empyrean by Rebecca Yarros. I’m still in the process of reading the novellas Victoria Aveyard wrote with the rest of the Red Queen series, but I’m slowing down on it, so that’s good.

I know you’re probably over me talking about the aesthetic playlists, so I’ll just tell you my Top 20 for this month. Again, if you’d like to hear the rest of the songs, you can click here too.
