I prepared myself to live in crushing, colorless despair for the rest of my days. But when I look back, I can see there were some warm rays of hope...poking through.
— Elincia, on Crimea's defeat in Gallia

Elincia Ridell Crimea (pronounced /əˈlɪnsiə raɪˈdɛl kraɪˈmiə/[key][3]; Japanese: エリンシア・リデル・クリミア Erincia Ridell Crimea) is the queen of Crimea. She was unknown to the public until her family was murdered from a Daein invasion; only the other royal families knew of her existence. She is not playable for most of Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, joining only a few chapters before the final chapter. She starts as Princess Crimea and can use staves and swords. In Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, she is first available in the prologue of Part II.

Role

Elincia is first found at the end of chapter 4, unconscious by the side of the road. Ike and the other mercenaries take her back to their fort. When she regains consciousness, she is reluctant at first to talk, although she does thank both Greil and Ike for rescuing her.[4]

By Chapter 26, Elincia will join fighting alongside Ike and the rest of his army. From that point on, her death during any chapters she's playable in (excluding Chapter 28 and the Trial Maps) results in an automatic Game Over.

Analysis

This character analysis section may not be accurate to every player's experience.

Elincia is the third pegasus unit to join and is the only flying staff user in the game, being essentially a pre-promoted Falcon Knight that can use staves. She joins extremely late and underleveled as a level 1 promoted unit. She has an acceptable average skill, speed, and luck base for her late join time, but she has extremely low strength and durability. She is the only one who can wield the Amiti, which is effectively a lighter unbreakable brave sword, but she is weighed down by it and has very low damage output with it. She can also triangle attack with Marcia and Tanith, though she should never initiate it.

Out of all playable staff-users in the game, Elincia has the highest base staff rank of A, able to use all staves in the game besides the Ashera staff. Her base magic is low, so her staff range will be lower than most other trained staff users; this is mitigated by having flight, high mobility, and canto. Her growth rates complement her role, having reasonable skill, speed, and luck growths, the best magic growth in the game, and low strength, defense, and health growths. Whether Elincia is given bonus experience or not, she is best used as a flying staff user and not as a combat unit. She can be trained to use the Sonic Sword and Runesword, but this requires conserving both Arms Scrolls for her and a significant amount of immediate BEXP.

Elincia has a heaven affinity which gives an accuracy boost. Because Elincia performs poorly as an offensive unit (and even if used offensively, does not struggle much with hitrates), this is not a beneficial affinity for her. Ike has an earth affinity which gives pure avoid, benefiting both units, but Ike does not need the accuracy boost and he has several other support options for much more of the game. Geoffrey has a fire affinity which gives attack and accuracy, which is useful for him and can help Elincia if the player wants to use her offensively. Geoffrey is Elincia's best partner, primarily due to lack of other support options for both Elincia and Geoffrey.

Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn

Role

Elincia initially appears as a playable character during Part II, Prologue and Part II, Endgame, and as a major non-playable character during the remaining chapters of Part II. During Part III, she acts as a background character, only appearing once in gameplay as an NPC unit during Part III, Chapter 10. In Part IV, she is forced into the Hawk Army, acting as a secondary protagonist for its chapters. She is available for deployment in Part IV, Endgame.

In all of her appearances prior to the Part IV, Endgame, Elincia is a required character and her death results in a Game Over.

If a Radiant Dawn game was started via a data transfer from Path of Radiance and Elincia managed to reach level 20 in her highest possible class in the Path of Radiance save file, any stat Elincia capped in Path of Radiance will result in a boost to her base in the stat in question in Radiant Dawn. The boost is a +5 for max HP, and +2 for strength, magic, skill, speed, luck, defense or resistance. In addition, Elincia's weapon level at the end of a transferred Path of Radiance game can result in an boost to her weapon experience in Radiant Dawn. Analysis

This character analysis section may not be accurate to every player's experience.

Elincia is a Queen available in two chapters of Part II, Tibarn's team in Part IV, and endgame. She is effectively a Seraph Knight that uses swords and staves and is the only flying staff user in the game. She has high mobility and Canto, giving her massive flexibility for combat, rescue/dropping, and staff utility. Elincia also has a base staff rank of A, allowing her to use most staves in the game. Path of Radiance Elincia caps magic on average and has a reasonable chance of capping skill and speed. These are boosts that Radiant Dawn Elincia appreciates. Note that Path of Radiance Elincia hitting level 20 requires significant investment due to her low level and late join time.

Elincia has excellent base stats, especially her luck, when she first becomes available in Part II, and she also has good growths, especially in strength, speed and luck, although she will require time to get experience: because she's considered to be in a third-tier class, the equivalent of a Seraph Knight, she's overleveled and will barely get experience in combat, leveling up faster when focusing on healing allies. Because she starts with only a Slim Sword as her weapon, her offense is extremely weak in spite of her decent base strength and the Slim Sword's additional crit chance, but from 2-E and onward, she can use the Amiti. The Amiti is effectively a stronger Brave Sword, making Elincia's combat exceptionally good. She can perform hit-and-run attacks on dangerous units very easily, and even if she does not double, she will hit them twice. The Amiti has infinite uses, so the player can use it as much as they want. Elincia is also the only staff user in Part II, making her a vital support unit, especially. Her growths are irrelevant at this point, as she is already fully promoted and will not gain much combat experience compared to other available units until Part IV.

In Part IV, Elincia is forced onto Tibarn's team. Her flight is immensely useful, allowing her to skip forests, swamps, and gaps in the endgame. Without any investment, she can be a valuable support unit on her team with staves. However, she will struggle to one-round enemies on harder difficulties, even with the Amiti. Her only useful 1–2 range option is the Storm Sword, because her sword rank is too low to use the powerful Tempest Blade or even Alondite. Her durability is enough to take a few hits, but not enough to face an extensive enemy phase. This is partly mitigated by her decent speed and high luck, giving her high avoidance. Notably, Elincia gets one-shotted by the accurate crossbow users found in Chapter IV-2, due to the high might of crossbows being increased to devastating amounts of damage due to bonus damage. However, she can work around this by doubling with the Amiti before they retaliate.

Elincia's offensive growths are excellent. She can turn into an excellent 1-range combat unit for Part IV, but she needs some investment to contribute. Ultimately, even without investment, Elincia is a valuable support unit through all of Part IV. With investment, she can turn into a solid combat unit, making her a flexible endgame performer.

Elincia has innate Renewal, which gives her HP regeneration based on a percentage of her max health on the start of her turn, which improves her durability when in prolonged combat. But if the player only uses her for staff utility, Renewal will be more useful on a frontline combat unit. As a third-tier advanced class, Elincia has Stun as her class's mastery skill. Since the Amiti is a brave weapon, Elincia has a remarkably high chance of activating Stun in every combat round. When she rejoins Ike's team at the end of Part III, albeit not being playable again until Part IV, she has the Mercy skill, which prevents her from killing enemy units (they will always be left at 1 HP no matter what she does). In Part IV, the skill can work as a kill-feeding method for units in training, such as the late joining Pelleas or any other underleveled units who had not promoted to third tier yet. If the player is not training anyone, Mercy should be removed from Elincia and sold, since keeping the skill could result in fatal consequences if the skill backfires against her by preventing her from killing an enemy she normally could have finished off before they could fight back; against the aforementioned crossbow users, it is effectively an immediate Game Over.

There are many other skills Elincia can make use of outside of her innate skill setup. If she is used offensively, Adept complements Elincia's good speed and Amiti and gives her more chances to Stun. Resolve and Nullify both help her survive on the frontlines since her durability is only average. Savior can let her become a valuable rescue support unit if not used for combat. Despite being able to use staves, Elincia can use the Imbue skill to make use of her high magic stat and recover high amounts of HP every turn, vastly improving her bulk.

Ultimately, Elincia has a flexible role for Part IV. She can make use of most skills, whether offensive, defensive or support.

Elincia has a heaven affinity which gives a significant accuracy boost. This can be a useful boost if she uses the inaccurate Storm Sword or Tempest Blade but is otherwise overkill. Her support options are limited due to her limited availability. Marcia makes a good support partner due to sharing some Part II chapters, being a flier, and giving an attack boost that improves both units' offense. Otherwise, anyone else who gives an attack or avoid boost helps Elincia offensively or helps her dodge more as a support unit.

Fire Emblem Awakening

Personality

This section has been marked as a stub. Please help improve the page by adding information.

Elincia is kind, gentle and thoughtful, though when she is first asked to speak to the people of Crimea, she is somewhat reluctant and shy. She did not grow up as many other princesses; she was brought up out of the limelight so she would not cause a blood feud in the Crimean royal family.

Quotes

Battle quotes

Sir Ike, I'll be waiting for you...
— An unused quote intended to be Elincia's escape quote in Path of Radiance.
Bertram: ......Gu...guuoo...
Elincia: ...Eeep...
Bertram: ...Gu...oo...OOO...

— Elincia, when fighting Bertram in Chapter 26 of Path of Radiance.
Elincia: Ashnard!
Ashnard: What? You again, Princess Crimea? I told you, you are not the foe I seek.
Elincia: You may not think so... Yet my purpose here is to defeat you. In the name of my father, my mother, my lord uncle, and the countless citizens of Crimea... You murdered them all! And I will never forgive you that!
Ashnard: In the world I am creating, only those with power will be allowed to live. Hurry and die, weakling!

— Elincia, when fighting Ashnard in the Endgame of Path of Radiance.
Zeffren: You... You Crimeans seriously believe you can withstand the might of Begnion?!
Elincia: Crimea takes this sort of encroachment seriously. We will not overlook invaders in our domain. Release your weapons, and apologize for your discourtesy... Only then will we lower our own.
Zeffren: You have quite a mouth on you... I won't be addressed in that tone by anyone. It's time to end this farce.

— Elincia, when fighting Zeffren in Part II, Prologue in Radiant Dawn.
Ludveck: Queen Elincia...
Elincia: Ludveck.
Ludveck: Looking quite gallant, aren't we? I thought you would surely be fleeing by now... or pleading for your life. I must commend you on your unexpected bravery.
Elincia: I am the ruler of Crimea. I will not abandon that role.
Ludveck: Oh, I see... Self-sacrifice, is it? How very honorable of you. By the way, Your Majesty, Lady Lucia is often in your company. Wherever could she have gone to?
Elincia: Where is she?! Tell me she's safe! Tell me–now!
Ludveck: Oh my, you look pale. You two grew up like sisters... You must be worried, then? Ha! Yet another facet of your weakness.

— Elincia, when fighting Ludveck in Part II, Endgame in Radiant Dawn.
Valtome: Ah, there you are, Queen of Hayseeds! I look forward to scraping you off my immaculate nails! Uwee hee hee hee!
Elincia: Lord Valtome, I desire no battle with you. Withdraw your troops immediately. If you do so, no more lives will be lost.
Valtome: Uwee hee...uwee hee hee... Are you touched as well as homely? I offer YOU the chance to surrender! But you, Elincia, I will only forgive if you beg. And crawl. And lick the sole of my left boot.
Elincia: I'm sorry that you feel that way. If that's how it has to be, may the goddess have mercy on you, Valtome.

— Elincia, when fighting Valtome in Part IV, Chapter 2 in Radiant Dawn.
Izuka: Elincia, the Crimean queen! Are you here to seek revenge?
Elincia: Revenge? On whose account? What are you talking about? I am arresting a dangerous fugitive.

— Elincia, when fighting Izuka in Part IV, Chapter 5 in Radiant Dawn.
Dheginsea: You, too, deign to oppose the goddess Ashera?
Elincia: I will do whatever is required to rescue those who were petrified. I beg of you, Dragon King, please reconsider what Prince Kurthnaga has told you.
Dheginsea: It is too late. People, in our weakness, betray the goddess, and are meant to be punished for it.
Elincia: I cannot believe that. People are capable of both terrible and wonderful things. To describe them so simply and cynically does them a disservice.
Dheginsea: If I am defeated today, that may convince me that I am wrong. Come... I'm waiting.

— Elincia, when fighting Dheginsea in Part IV, Endgame (3) in Radiant Dawn.
I'm heir to the Crimean throne.
— Elincia's SpotPass parley quote in Awakening.
I'll face this challenge unafraid!
— Elincia, in a SpotPass battle in Awakening.
I'll join you on the battle lines.
— Elincia's recruitment quote in Awakening.
I have a kingdom of my own, and will not allow brigands to ravage this one.
— Elincia, in Champions of Yore 1 in Awakening.
Virion: What is that bouquet upon the wind? Ah, it is you, milady. A woman of your beauty and caliber must exude grace upon the battlefield.
Elincia: There is no grace to be found in war. Only sorrow. But if that is the currency in which you trade, then let us barter and be done.

— Elincia, when fighting Virion in Champions of Yore 1 in Awakening.
My lord Ike! Let me fight with you!
— Elincia, in Champions of Yore 3 in Awakening.
Elincia: Too long have I relied on the protection of others. It is my turn to keep them safe!
Virion: Regally said, my flower. A rose without thorns would be dull indeed. I shall look forward to plucking you!

— Elincia, when fighting Virion in Champions of Yore 3 in Awakening.
Could we be the ones in the wrong? No, Elincia. Trust in our cause!
— Elincia, in Smash Brethren 1 in Awakening.
Sumia: I fight in the name of peace! So, uh...okay then.
Elincia: You can be bolder than that. I am no delicate flower that wilts at a threat.
Sumia: N-no, it's not you. It's definitely me.

— Elincia, when fighting Sumia in Smash Brethren 1 in Awakening.
Leave this place, trespassers—for all our sakes!
— Elincia, in Smash Brethren 3 in Awakening.
Elincia: Stranger from afar, I demand that you leave this place! Answer now, or we will settle this with steel!
Sumia: As you c-command, milady! ...I-I mean, no! We can't!
Elincia: Very well. Steel it is, then!

— Elincia, when fighting Sumia in Smash Brethren 3 in Awakening.
I can see you're quite skilled. This will not be easy...
— Elincia, in Rogues & Redeemers 2 in Awakening.
Elincia: What is a laguz doing here? ...Wait. No, you're different.
Yarne: I'm a taguel. And you'd better believe I won't be the last!

— Elincia, when fighting Yarne in Rogues & Redeemers 2 in Awakening.
Strange... I feel as though I've fought you before... But this time shall be the last.
— Elincia, in Rogues & Redeemers 3 in Awakening.
Elincia: I wish we could have found a peaceful way to settle this.
Yarne: I'd wish the same, if there wasn't the fate of the entire species at stake!

— Elincia, when fighting Yarne in Rogues & Redeemers 3 in Awakening.

Death quote

Ike... For all you've done, I thank you. May you live a...long... and happy...life...
— Elincia, in Path of Radiance.
Father... Forgive me... I was...a weak ruler...
— Elincia, in Radiant Dawn.
Elincia: I...I am so...so powerless. Ah... Father...Mother...Uncle......
Leanne: Queen Elincia! Your Majesty!

— Elincia, in Part II, Prologue in Radiant Dawn.

Tibarn: Queen Elincia! That's it, Izuka! That's the very last life you take. Your black heart has beat long enough.

— Elincia, in Part IV, Chapter 5 in Radiant Dawn.
Elincia: Ugh...aaah... Sorry... I... I'm...
Ike: Elincia! You don't have to do this! Just get out of here!
Elincia: My noble Ike... All...your plans...
Ike: Don't speak. Leave it all to me. You use all your strength to make sure that you survive. Do it for the people of Crimea.
Elincia: All right, Sir Ike. ...I know you can do it. I'll be waiting.
