Barwatera (バファイラ, Bawotara?) is a recurring support spell in the Final Fantasy series. The spell functions as an area of effect version of the Barwater spell, raising the water-resistance of multiple party members.

Barwatera is an Enhancing Magic learned by White Mages at level 9, serving as the area of effect version of the Barwater spell available to Red Mages and Rune Fencer. Its scroll can always be purchased from Hasim in Lower Jeuno.
When cast, the target will have a better chance of evading Water-based attacks.
Should a player have a White Mage as their sub-job, their character will have access to Barwatera once reaching level 18.

Barwatera is a level 4 Green Magic spell learned by Nichol/Illusionist Nichol at level 72 (5★) as well as Leviathan (2★) and Siren (3★). It can be equipped as a Materia by crafting it for 1600 gil, 5 Water Crysts, 1 Water Megacryst, 3 Gaia's Tears, and 1 Alcryst. It costs 10 MP to use and increases Water resistance by 60% for 4 turns to all allies.
