Don't know what a tactical RPG is? Well, let me try to explain.
What is a Tactical RPG?
A tactical RPG is a roleplaying game with battle and basic game mechanics that are drastically different from more traditional roleplaying games. Tactical RPGs are most well known for their battle systems--two forces on an x-y grid that do battle against each other. Rather than simply chosing "attack" to do physical damage, you must walk to your desired target first and then perform an action. This system certainly takes a lot of smarts and many battles require a lot of forethought before you can attain victory (hence: tactical RPGs). Another aspect of Tactical RPGs that sets them apart from regular RPGs is that, rather than walking around cities and landscapes searching for treasure and people to talk to, you and your army simply navigate a large world map and generally don't get to walk around and explore cities and such. New to the community and don't know what to do? How about making an introduction post? :D I've provided a brief questionaire in case you're at a loss for what to say, OK?
What's your name or alias? What're you doing with yourself? What do you like? What're your hobbies, bro? What's your favorite tactical RPG? Who's your favorite tactical RPG character? What other games do you like? Do you have a web page? If so, what is it?
Community Rules
1.) You must be a fan of tactical RPGs to join. This is sort of a given. 2.) Please keep all posts on topic. If a post seems too off-topic it'll be removed. 3.) We are not ebay. Do not try and sell your strategy guide/video game here. 4.) Posts that try to figure out which game was the best or which hero/heroine was the best are stupid and overdone. Try not to make these kinds of posts. 5.) We understand that people can be absolutely mind numbingly stupid at times. But, if someone is being painfully dumb try not to get on their case TOO too much. Ok? 6.) Posts that are relatively long should be put under a LJ cut so they don't crowd people's friends lists.
