I know this community is pretty dead, but then again, it's always as active as its members, isn't it? *tries first aid measures*
As for my introduction...
I'm Schattenstern - or Sabrina, if that's what you prefer ^^ - 21, university student, wannabe writer (not in English, don't worry. It's not my first language.) and, you might have guessed so, a fan of tactical RPGs.
I'm currently playing "La Pucelle Tactics" and like it quite a bit so far. Other tactical games I've played are Final Fantasy Tactics (Though I haven't finished it yet -.-), FF Tactics Advance and Disgaea. Once I've played the other Suikoden games (So far I've finished 1 & 2), Suikoden Tactics (or Rhapsodia or whatever) is also waiting for me as well. Guess I'm just a little bit addicted to this kind of gameplay.
Other than the games mentioned above I also love the Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts series (particularly FFX, FFVI and KH2) as well as games like Chrono Trigger, Vagrant Story and Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones.
So, where are you? *shouts and hopes to hear more than an echo* Are there any other tactical RPGs you can particularly recommend? What are you playing at the moment? And will this community become more lively if I just keep asking questions? ^.-

Have any of you guys played Suikoden Tactics? How's the game? I haven't really played much of the other Suikoden games, since I'm mostly a tactics gamer myself, so I was wondering how Suikoden Tactics measures up as a game on its own.
Online FFTA-clans-style game?

Does anyone know if there is an online game somewhere where players can manage their own clans in an FFTA-style world?
I think it would be very entertaining if FFTA were expanded into a (hopefully massively) multiplayer version where people could pit their clans against each other. (And most likely not tend to name them all "Clan Nutsy".) And then some. Game managers could post both a theoretically unlimited number of combat and dispatch missions, which players could then complete. You could choose what to do with rival clans--extend an offer to duel, or accept or reject one? trade items, equipment, or members? cooperate on certain missions? force a duel (which might garner retribution against you in the future)? or just greet then ignore them?
It would be interesting to watch the political dynamics in such an virtual society. Would "bully" clans form, and how often? Would "police associations" of clans form to check them, or would vigilantes more likely take care of such business? How much cooperation and competition would there be, for resource use, for example? Would "niche" clans arise that specialized in certain types of missions or actions?
And oh yes, there must be judges and laws (they're annoying, I know), but there must also be antilaw cards (which adds more fun than is lost to the annoyance of judges and laws). As well as judge-less areas where your characters can die.
As for recruiting clan members, a clan manager (in other words, a player in this game) might be able to go to certain recruitment centers, and/or individual characters might just come to a clan and apply for membership. (This conjures up images of "Clan [name]: now accepting applications! All class all races eligible, but human and nu mou mages preferred" signs and the like...)
