SPN 301 HR picspam

I'll be doing my damnedest this season to keep up with the picspams during their correct week(s). Which is a goal that shouldn't be a goal -- it should just happen -- but hey, life. The main reason for this is that I suspect the picspams are going to be my sole episode commentary, because I also suspect that I'll stress less that way.

Unless I'm finding myself with tons more time than I expect I'll have, this means that except for when there's a moment that I noticed but that no one caught, and that I absolutely must have it or die, I'll be using caps from other people in the interest of speed. This week, they're from [livejournal.com profile] oxoniensis, although I've tweaked them down in size to about "standard" HR (if the HR copy comes at 1280x720 every week, though, reevaluating may happen).

Anyway, enough babbling. On with the show.

I didn't like the change to the title last season the first time I saw it, even though I understood it. Same goes for this year. I'm going soft, though, I think, because it only took until the rewatch this year before I was going, "OMGPERFECT!" The spectral hands, the devil's trap, and oh, iron sure has already figured prominently, and you just know it's going to keep up front and center.

It's a week later, and only NOW is Sam getting to Faustus et al? Dude. Either this booty call is the first time Dean's been out of Sam's direct line of sight, or Dean has been tossing the books out the window every time Sam opens one.

Okay, I'm pretty sure this is a high he'll be coming/crashing down off of (NO, not the sex; the "One year, and I'm done! Yeehaw!"), but right now, LOOK AT THAT HAPPY.

On the other hand, look at that face... ::pets Sam:: That ain't getting any better.

BOBBY. HI, BOBBY. NO GETTING KILLED, BOBBY, I THINK WE CAN AGREE ON THAT.

for a split second, here, sam is hot Hey! We got sunshine!

Their disgusted!faces are soooo different. And Sam really is the boyishest-faced sasquatch ever.

Necks. Guns. Competence. Whatever (everything!) does it for ya.

The first one's for the freckles. The second is for the certainty that repeated exposure isn't likely to lessen the impact, but that we can keep on trying.

Mucho love for continuing to populate this universe with people Bobby knows and the Winchesters don't.

::sighs:: I gather she's what people were flailing about this summer? So, is it her being a her and all, or is it that her name is under "staring," and not "guest starring" like Jim Beaver, which, what? She's going to be showing up more often than Bobby or Ellen ever did? NO, DON'T ANSWER ANY OF THAT. ::pounds head on wall:: Hush. Stop asking things that'll get you in trouble.

It's been too long since I've said, "Such brothers!" Hee.

What was this?? I honestly thought Dean was talking to Bobby-who's-offscreen at this point! Bobby cannot come without a hat. Just, NO.

Because they're all serious and working-like, which is always of the good. They work very well together, actually, have in every one of the times we've seen them together, and that's over on the personal side, too; Bobby fits with them without tension or sore spots, but the relationship somehow doesn't have an artificial perfection to it, and I don't know where I'm going with this, so, stopping now.

Focusing on the nice shot of Sam, and holding out hope that there will be a good reason for going so ultra-mysterious with this...man, I hate calling her a girl, and she doesn't come off as young as Jo, but she also hasn't come off in the split seconds we've seen her as mature enough to call a woman. Blargh. But hey! Nice shot of Sam! Thanks, Kim Manners.

Sorry, have to flail a bit again at my love for how Bobby fits into and shifts the dynamic.

::snorts:: Oh, ♥.

I'm glad we met these two, and that they were who they were, but yeeeeeah, they were missing the element of caution that Bobby (and to a lesser extent on a more regular basis, Sam) brings to the How to Not Get Dead hunting game.

I'd been waiting for him to begin to show Dean just how fed up he was with Dean's reckless "I'm dead already" shtick.

Yes, he's one intimidating sonofabitch when he's yelling, but what stops people is just as much that he cares as that he's right.

While I know it's good that he's not a novice, Dean is already way too comfortable facing off with trapped demons.

Going down together, oh, Sammy. Shall I point a certain scene in Croatoan out to you?

::aches for them::

And for Tamara. Demons do not play nice.

But snarky and smug Bobby is the best of the best.

Okay, I know it was a distraction/lure, but seriously, Dean, you need to stop doing that.

YEEKS, Pride was creepy, and so not just because of what he was saying. Like [livejournal.com profile] marinarusalka pointed out, though. good for Sam for holding tight and listening.

She goes for the throat; I gotta admire that. But, um, so. Not much with the concern for the possessed, huh?

Pretty. Yup.

For a while, "all right" is about the best they're all going to be able to hope for. (which, anywhere other than fandom, shouldn't make me so happy)

This is what I would normally end on: both of them putting "everything" out there for the other to see...

...but it's a bit of a downer, and I wouldn't be welcoming back a new season without this: still the prettiest, Impala! Stay in one piece this year, okay? Thanks.

Re: Bobby & the need for a hat--today I saw one of our paid museum docents who works underground, only he didn't have his hard hat on, so I didn't recognize him for about five minutes. And then I told him so, and one of my other co-workers said, "Terry?! Is that you?!"

On an entirely different note, I loved that angle they shot from when introducing the new hunter couple and when Dean was lying on his back on the porch. Hee!

HA! Yeah, there's gotta be a statute of limitations on Look changing; once you've had the same exact one for a long enough time, you're just not allowed to adjust it in any way. *g*

And heh, yes, Kim Manners is totally allowed to have fun with camera angles like that.

Hi, I grabbed a few...Alright, ALL of them!

I love the new opening title. The explosion and dark clouds indicate the begin of the war, I guess.

Poor Sammy, he looks so sad everytime he looks at Dean. *pets him*

Thanks for the spam! <3

They are all so pretty to play with, so you're welcome!

And yes, the new title grew on me way quicker than last season's in part because it's much more complex, I think, even though it's just as short as the previous ones. There's a lot more going on in there, I mean.
