One complete system restore later, my computer is working again. If that experience has taught me one thing, it's this:

Yeah. Here's the thing: I have no idea what caused it. I had no viruses, no spyware, nothing -- but my computer wouldn't boot up and I would continually get messages saying reassuring things like, "A system process that should never fail has failed", along with errors that translated to, "Your system is fucked; reinstall."
Anyway, back in business now. And I'm afraid to do ANYTHING, because what if it makes my computer go kablammo again? Can I really justify installing bittorrent? Stealing a new version of WinZip? Decisions, decisions.
In the meantime, have some more
