The Shark is a name used by several characters in the DC Universe.

Gunther Hardwicke was an inventor who wanted to do something else, so he became a criminal. With his friends the Fox and the Vulture, he committed crimes as the Terrible Trio, and frequently opposed Batman. Karshon was a normal tiger shark until a radioactive waste spill super-evolved him into an anthropomorphic shark. He became an enemy of Green Lantern, Superman, Aquaman, Wonder Woman, the Justice League of America, and the Black Condor.

Gunther Hardwicke was created by Dave Wood and Sheldon Moldoff, and first appeared in Detective Comics #253 (1958). Karshon was created by Gil Kane and John Broome, and first appeared in Green Lantern (Volume 2) #24 (1963).

Several other villains have used variations of the name "Shark", including Killer Shark, King Shark, Black Shark, Great White Shark, Carcharo and Tiger Shark.
