I am rewatching Dexter season 1 (still my favorite Dexter season because it is such a marvelous introduction to this singular character) and it strikes me that Dexter Morgan is a classic unreliable narrator when it comes to himself. He can be very sharp and insightful about other people - standing apart from humanity and looking in makes that possible for him - but you can't take everything he says about himself in his internal monologues as gospel.
of Dexter and then I am going to have to put my Dexter obsession/love on the backburner for another year/maybe forever. Showtime haven't announced whether there is going to be a sixth season. I sure hope if this fifth season is the end the showrunners won't leave things on a cliffhanger. This season I am fullblown passionately in love again with the show as I haven't been since the first season. It's the same feeling of being really jittery and jumpy after episodes air and not being able to sleep well after. Over obsessing over Dexter Morgan like he was a real person.
Am I wrong for wanting my favourite serial killer to have a happy ending? Bah. If that's wrong I don't want to be right.
MCH is a great actor. He was fantastic on SFU and he is fantastic as Dexter. He makes me feel such empathy for a character who played by another actor I bet wouldn't have become so popular and iconic.
