Supernatural aired its last ep two years ago today. It left me with mixed emotions. I always wanted to know how the show would end, without wanting it to ever end. So proud of what this show accomplished for so many years, but very sad to see it go. I miss it very much, while at the same time, I'm glad to see Jared and Jensen doing so well with their new shows.
Today is also the 46th anniversary of Kansas releasing their single, "Carry On My Wayward Son".
I like listening to Rob Benedict and Richard Speight's podcast, "Supernatural Then and Now." They're watching the show from the beginning for the first time, and as actors, it's interesting to hear their perspective. But they brought up something recently that surprised me, because I've never heard this kind of reaction before.
In their podcast about the episode "Hunted", they had Brianna Buckmaster as one of the guests. They were talking about Gordon and Richard said that they weren't sure if Gordon is a good guy or a bad guy, that it's not as clear cut as "he wants to kill Sam ergo he's a bad guy." Because Gordon has his hunter reasons." Brianna said she liked that it was up to the audience to decide how they feel about Gordon, and if they wanted Gordon to succeed or not (in killing Sam). Later on, Rob said "Look, I'm concerned about Sam. Was Gordon right? Is Sam evil? I don't know."
For me, it was clear from the very beginning of Gordon's storyline that he wasn't a good guy. He doesn't see things in shades of gray. Lenore and her nest of vampires weren't hurting anyone, but he still wanted to kill them all. Way before he wanted to kill Sam, Gordon was already dangerous. Ellen had warned them to stay far away from him.
I'd like to hear how you feel about what Rob, Rich and Brianna said. Because I've always assumed that the audience saw Gordon as the bad guy, and that they didn't sit there trying to decide if they wanted Gordon to succeed in killing Sam. I mean, seriously?
It's a question in season 2 about whether or not Sam will turn evil, based on what John had told Dean. But it's not a given, and John had also talked about SAVING Sam.
Does anyone remember what ep this is from? Maybe early season 8?
So, Sam has spent a large part of his life living in motels, feeling that they aren't a part of anywhere. As a kid, he probably dreamed about living in a real home.
Sarah is a fan of the season 1 Sammy bangs! And Sam is amused. :)
I loved the bangs in season 1, but as he matured the longer hair suited him very well. I like it even longer, like how it was in the beginning of season 8.
