Stephen Gately (1976-2009)

He passed away on 10 October 2009 from pulmonary oedema in Majorca, Spain. Boyzone is the first and most influential boybands in my teenage years (our country was more exposed to British/European music at the time), and Stephen was one of my two favorite guys from the band. (I became more obsessed with Shane and his stylish eyebrows later on.) What makes this much worse is that Stephen had gone through a lot when he came out 10 years ago and got married to his husband, Andrew Cowles. And unlike most bands, everyone is really close -- they didn't fight or had a fallout. Ronan was devastated after the news. Poor thing.

As a member of human race, this is one of those posts I just have to make.

I finished watching "Rome" two days ago, and by God I was so fascinated by adult Octavian. Not just because he was such a interesting character in a very TWISTED way, but also because the actor who portrayed him was strangely HOT.



Some of you might remember him as Mr Bingley from Pride & Prejudice (2005). I adored him in that film, but it wasn't until I saw him as Octavian that I was compelled to look him up. Weirdly there was barely no personal details about him on IMDB and Wikipedia, not even his birth date.

I don't know if it has anything to do with the fact that he used to have a serious girlfriend but now is publicly in a relationship with a man.

That's right, after ten minutes of researching, I found out he's gay (or at least bi). I was skeptical at first because I knew he had a serious girlfriend at one time and this was just some random comment on IMDB. So I googled and, sure enough, found a legit source that confirmed said comment. Naturally I was shocked, and then I was happy -- happy for him, proud of him even -- and then a little bit hopeful.

I'm not gonna say that being British makes coming out easier. Rupert Everett himself said informing the world of his sexuality almost ruined his acting career. I think what I'm trying to say is that there are a LOT of excuses to stay in the closet, most of them understandable and should be respected; but if having a full and happy life is what we're all eventually looking for, wouldn't that be the best excuse to stop pretending?

I'm sure this isn't news since I'm usually the last to know about these things, but like I said, this is just the kind of story I feel obligated to share. ♥

All right, Kradam fans. Even though one of them is fuckin' married to a woman, I cave to their EPIC MAN LOVE. <3

PS. Now I think I want Adam to win just so Kris won't have to put that horrible song in his album. Ew.

Ahh... finally, something new and REAL.

My favorite bits (and I'm sure more will be added):
- Their private wrap party left Jensen a bit slow
- Their shared alarm clock
- Jensen's stolen cupcake
- Jensen makes Jared THE bachelorette (so, you know, Jared can legitimately pick GUYS instead of girls)
- Jensen's remark on THAT Jared's shirtless pic, and how he needs a shower afterward
- Jensen knows how Jared is when he's angry, when he's sad, and when he's having a fight with *awkward pause* a girlfriend.

Just thought I'd let you guys know:
- In less than 12 hours I will be on a plane to Singapore to see my love, Jason Mraz, perform live. Will bring you some pics, I hope.
- I will be spending some time with my girl akari_hayashi who got me the ticket to said show which was apparently sold out after a week or so. XD
- I might be able to see JDM in Watchmen before I thought I could because it's showing in Singapore right the fuck now. Woo!
- Some of you might have noticed that all the pics/icons in my old entries are now not viewable because my Photobucket account decided to exceed the bandwidth this month. WTF? Anyway, I'm using other host as of now, but I think all the old pics/icons will be back next month. Right?
- As for my dog!lessons fics, I'm still planning on continuing the 'verse, but work has been hell lately, and other stuff has got me distracted. I will write as soon as I can. For those who haven't read it, give it a try. They're all standalone stories of schmoopy J2. &hearts
- On "American Idol" front: how much do you have to kiss another dude to be gay? XD
- I hope nothing apocalyptic happens during my two-day trip. Don't announce your engagement just yet, okay, boys?
- Lastly, I would like to thank everyone who has replied to my entries, no matter how random or trivial they seem. Once in a while it's good to know that you're a part of something. :)
