dulcimerboy This music is so wonderful. proper acoustic exploration of a kind that I only wish I was brave enough to do. Thank you for doing what I am far too much of a traditionalist to even try.
    Phospheressence thumbnail
Phospheressence Wonderful, joyous, experimental, soulful, feels like it comes from another place, or deep inside or all around, transcendent, touching down, finding, exploring, reaching out. Did I say this takes me out there too? Would love to see you live sometime.
    cellostuff thumbnail
cellostuff I love this - someone who is finally doing the modern medieval really well. This album seriously branches out, bringing in unusual influences in seriously interesting ways. It is a compositional marvel and unlike anything you have ever heard.
    Domen Finzgar thumbnail
Domen Finzgar It looks like a spontaneous meditation, but it's not. Beautifully composed with mindblowing sounds from instruments rarely heard anywhere else. A bit of classic minimalism and lots of string renaissance that is happening right now at loads of places in northern Europe/US. Perfection from Slovenia.

chadwickvoivod exceptional, a portal into a sound world that I want to step through!
    Calvin Yurko thumbnail
Calvin Yurko One of the most fascinating albums I've ever heard. Folk but detached from time, place, and structure: the primordial soup from which all music comes. Favorite track: For You, This Eve, the Wolves Will Be Enchantingly Forsaken.
    Caravell Del Morter thumbnail
Caravell Del Morter I am totally into this album and your music. The whole work is excellent, obscure, primitive, and at the same time futuristic and luminescent. Favorite track: Curls Upon the Neck, Ribs Upon the Mountain.

Roomful of Teeth - Rough Magic

In retrospect my absolute favourite release of 2023
    arnisking thumbnail
arnisking I love this album. My students are confused by it at the beginning as I play it with my office door open, but they wind up getting curious.

I also introduced one to "Just Constellations," and they were mesmerized. Way to go, RoT! Favorite track: Psychedelics: I. Deep Blue (You Beat Me) // William Brittelle.
    EspressoFox thumbnail
EspressoFox 'Rough Magic' is wondrous acoustical sorcery. Dark, haunting, and absolutely sublime. Favorite track: The Isle: II. Ariel // Caroline Shaw.

Mason Pond fuuuuck, finally the demos for this album. I petition that fugazi should release all the demos from every album and song.
Facet also sounds really good played slow and heavy. Favorite track: Facet Squared (Albini Session).

Summer Angine de Poitrine, brings new fun and life into prog rock in both presentation and sound. I think if you like Cassiopeia you'll like them. Alternatively if you're transgender you will probably like them as well. Favorite track: Ababa Hotel.
    sassychicken17 thumbnail
sassychicken17 This album breaks my brain in the best of ways. From the innovative microtonal sounds to the time signature shifts, my mind and body are fully engaged with every track. Bandcamp has the audacity to force me to choose exactly one favorite song, but they are all great tracks! Favorite track: Ababa Hotel.

Bernard Grancher It's a wonder every moment! It's like visiting a lost city, forgotten remains just waiting to wake up to reveal their vanished beauty. Every time I listen to a Polypores record, I wonder how he manages to lose us and make us travel to the heart of his machines. Favorite track: Pure Colours and Light Charged Clouds.
