I haven't posted in quite some time so I wanted to post updates on my baby girls:) Brooklyn Mackenzie & Austyn Monroe were born July 18th 2009 at 35 weeks. They're are such happy & mellow children. They're always happy & have always been very easy going. They slept through the night by 6 weeks! They were very much a surprise pregnancy but I couldn't picture life without them. They love animals & love water! They're my little fish:) I just can't believe how fast the last 2 years have flown by!!

Silly question: Are you toddlers currently hungry things?
Evan seems to spend most of the day going into the kitchen pointing at the cabinet where we keep his snacks or pointing at the fridge and signing "more" or "eat." This is often accompanied with mild tantrums. He mostly eats the same at meals though. Sometimes he eats a lot. Sometimes not much at all. I'm wondering if this demanding snacks thing is a control issue actually. So just wondering if it is just him or is this a phase 16-17 month olds go through.
How is your baby doing? (milestones, routine, dr's visits, accomplishments): Wonderfully. He has been walking for a month now and is on the verge of figuring out running. He is trying to say words. He has figured out that if he hands me a book and either sits in front of me or in my lap that I will read him the book. Everyday he seems to figure something else out. We are in the process of night weaning him. Last night he woke at around 4am and put him back to sleep. Let me tell you this is huge! We will be switching to cows milk at daycare but I will still be nursing him before and after daycare. After one really bad spill off the couch when he moved too fast for me to stop him, he now consistently will climb down things feet first (and I don't let go of him on the couch anymore). He loves food and has a great appetite but he is starting to turn his nose up at vegetables. He likes to dance. He gives high 5s to his Daddy. I could go on and on (ok, I know I just did).
How are you doing?: Exhausted because the night weaning process has been hell. I'm also very nervous about stopping pumping. Oh, and my MIL and FIL are visiting for the next few days and we are having a big birthday party for Evan on Saturday. But other than that I'm great.
Brag a little bit!: Didn't I do that up above? OK, instead I will tell you how much we love that certain words will make Evan crack up. Ba-na-na, is comedy gold as far as my son is concerned. In general he is such a happy baby and the darling of the daycare.
How is your baby doing? (milestones, routine, dr's visits, accomplishments): Evan started walking this past Friday! He has been taking a few steps here and a few steps there for 2 weeks but this Friday he was legitamately walking. He had to be dramatic about it too. His father had been on a business trip for the last week and Evan took his first steps to Daddy as Daddy walked into the house.
Let's see, we are also up to 4 teeth. This is making me want to give up breastfeeding. I won't for another month for sure but ow it hurts when he bites. Speaking of biting he thinks kisses involve teeth. His two favorite people to bite are me and the little boy in daycare who is 3 days younger than him. Luckily his parents aren't upset about it.
He almost never gets baby food anymore. Sometimes at daycare when they are serving something I don't want him eating yet. Example, I don't think an 11 month old should be having scones for breakfast.
He babbles a lot but it is almost exclusively Mamamamama or Dadadadada.
He is fascinated with the phone to the point that I can't talk on it in front of him anymore. That made last week with my husband gone really interesting.
Oh yeah, sleep regression coinciding with starting to walk. We were up 3 times last night! Ugh.
He loves the water. The absolute best was taking him in the sprinkler last weekend. He thought it was the best thing ever as evidenced by the maniacal giggle.
The changing table has become a juggling routine. He does not want to stay still at all. Sometimes he will get fascinated with the strap on the changing pad for a minute so that will help but toys don't distract him anymore.
How are you doing?: I'm exhausted by the sleep regression. My nipples are sore from the biting. My back hurts from the lifting and occasional bad posture while feeding him. But I'm happy. Very, very happy.
Brag a little bit!: Oh, I think I did that up there with the walking thing.
hello! you probably don't remember ne but i was in this community like, the whole time i was pregnant. i was due August 19th with a little girl and my LJ was crazee_amy. i got a new one and decided to try and start over again. she decided to come naturally on August 24th after 6 hours of natural labor :)
well, Morgan turned 10 months yesterday and is progressing very well. she's crawling like speed demon, can walk with the help of mommy/daddy and/or furniture and it's trying to stand on her own. she's not really talking yet, just babbles and dadadadada.. she's about 18lbs and 27in long, shes a tiny thing.
This is copied and pasted from our blog because well, I'm tired and lazy. :-p The pics are from around 10 months old, I haven't uploaded any new ones recently...
