This last Saturday (1/23/2010) the Harry Potter Fandom came together in a webcast to support “Helping Haiti Heal” to benefit “Partners in Health, a charitable organization that has been on the ground in Haiti for over 20 years and will remain in Haiti working to end poverty and bring about a healthier society long after the initial relief efforts have ended.

The webcast featured special apperances and performances from The HP Alliance, The Leaky Cauldron, PotterCast, MuggleNet, MuggleCast, Hogwarts Radio, FictionAlley, The Signal and TrueBloodNews, actors from "The Wire," and "Heroes"; wizard rock from Harry and the Potters, Draco and the Malfoys, The Remus Lupins, Ministry of Magic, Lauren Fairweather, and The Whomping Willows.

One of the really cool things about this fund raiser is that over 200 prizes have been donated.  Including a full set of Harry Potter books signed and donated by J.K. Rowling.  A guitar owned and signed by Tom Felton (Draco) and a ton of other fan related stuff plus stuff from other fandom’s like Dexter, True Blood, Star Wars and others.

Dear First Years,

Come join your fellow students in the Great Hall and be sorted into one of Atlanta HP's four houses for the evening. Then compete in some fun games for house points and enjoy some HP discussion. Which house will reign victorious as the winner of Atlanta HP's first House Cup?

*HP Discussion
*HP Wheel of Fortune- Pat and Vanna bring their game to the wizarding world
*Scene Reenactments- watch a short scene from one of the HP movies and then re-enact it as best you can with your house. You will be judged on both accuracy and creativity.
*And then stay after the House Cup winner is announced for a fun game of Are You a Death Eater?

Atlanta HP is hosting a fun game of Are You a Death Eater (an HP version of Are You a Werewolf/Mafia) for the YA Lit Track!! It will start at 11:30 pm in the YA Lit track room- A707 in the Marriott. I hope everyone who is at Dragon Con will come out and play. If you have never been to one of our parties this will be a fun way to meet people from our group. If you haven't been able to make a party in awhile then this will be a great way to connect with everyone again.

If you have one of our new Atlanta HP t-shirts, we hope you will wear them to this panel!

The full schedule for D*c is not up for another couple of days, but I know for sure that Tom Felton is not scheduled to talk during either the rehearsal times or the actual dance time, so please join!

Hey guys, I have a friend who is working with the Atlantic Station Regal Cinema.  They need Harry Potter costumers still for the Half Blood Prince premiere tomorrow night, and also for some showings next week.

Hello my fellow wizards! I come in a desperate hour of need.

My name is Jules, aka Kozibot. I'm a costuming fiend from Chicago, and I'm friends with stupid_drawings. She's actually staying with me this week before we head off to Azkatraz in a few days. She's told me wonderful things about you folks and recommended I ask here for help.

My delema that I bring to you folks is that I'll be visiting Atlanta for the first time for Dragon*Con this coming September, but alas my room situation has suddenly gone to pot and I'm currently looking for a place to stay from Thursday morning through Monday morning. If anyone has a bed space or a rollaway that hasn't been claimed, I'd prefer that, but I could always bring an air matress. I've got scoliosis so a soft surface other than the floor is greatly prefered.

I don't know who will be going to midnight showing of HBP at Regal Hollywood 24 but according to Fandango the 12:01 showing is sold out. However they have another showing at 12:15.
