As promised here is my full completed June Art Slam! 30 Days is all I signed up for, it's a mix of sketches, experimentation and finished pieces.

First day just trying to do things that are familiar, except the exo in the middle there, that's not familiar

Trying to get some groundwork for character portraits going. Wasn't exactly what I wanted but gotta do things that aren't right to get to the right one. Trying to figure out the nuance of people's faces is rough.

Sketches for Daga and Truda, I liked both of these and used them for later days

Got the portrait for Truda done

Finished up the portrait for Daga

I had a difficult time drawing anything so it's just a bunch of busts.

I finally got some new nibs for my dip pen! was testing them out, pretty sure I didn't quite burn all the oil off

& 9: Experimenting more with the dip pen. Markers and the ink didn't exactly mix well so they smeared all over the place despite my best efforts. Oh well. I really enjoy doing random fashion, so I really should do this more, maybe with a different ink.

Had an old sketch of Avis I meant to ink, so that's what I did

Another Meh day where I couldn't really pin down anything

Had the impulse to sketch Kitra, gave him a goatee and I really liked it.

Inked one of the sketches so he finally has a proper portrait for once.

Made a character that was just a dialog prop for something I was writing, got immediately attached and he got named miraculously quickly, so I had to sketch him

And then I inked one of the sketches to figure out his colors.

Colored up a sketch I had, this is for my Starfinder campaign that'll be starting soon, my SRO Mechanic, Void.

Tried to do digital sketching again and managed to work it out. Scaling back how much I'm doing since I think I was kinda over-doing it before. My character Rodgerick

Sketched character paul and finally nailed down his overall look

I think this the most neutral I've ever drawn Cap

Rodgerick, ships mechanic. I can't believe I drew all those curls but it looks nice at least. Glad to have a nice reference image for him, finally.

Paul, ship's gunner and the captain's nicer half. Also was in dire need of a solid reference image.

Captain Grace Armes, captain of the ship. I always draw her in a scowl so often, so have the rare neutral expression. I got lazy and didn't add the grey hair.

Sketch for Mikasi, workin' on making nice portraits for the pretorians.

 Bust sketch for Sab

Sketch of Melissa Hadley whom I've never drawn before this

Pardal bust sketch on right, and the look for Lux and Tor on left (they're bots of the same model)

Just another fashion detour featuring Talon again, wanted to use my markers. Based on this

Polished up one of the sketches, Sab. Pretorian sniper with some pretty slapped on Desert Camo texture

Bust for Pardal finished, a lot easier than the rest. Flyer and recon, is also in a bad way.

Finished up Mikasi. Security and communication and stuck on a track jacked right into the base itself. He doesn't have any armor plating so he's just the raw structure and synthetic muscle beneath.

I've tried for so many years to try to accomplish any ArtSlam goal and I've always caved after about a week or two. This is the first time I've seen it through to the end and I've even got a lot of completely finished pieces in the middle. Even if it's just busts and some of them a little lazy/fast it's still a lot more I've done for myself than I have in years and if anything the fact that I've managed to follow through to the end I think is a testament to how I'm improving, mentally.

Not only that, but now my 3 main settings all have relatively uniform profile pics

I just need to finish up the human profiles/pictures for the Pretorians and I'll be more or less wrapped up!

Also I discovered it's easier to draw human faces if I give them dot eyes first and then fill in the eyes later after I finish with the face? Wild, but I'm not complaining.

Human faces are easy for me. Noses too... :) But I get asked who are they a lot... I draw from my head.. not subjects.

Noses I'd say are the easiest.
