"'Ey, c'mon guys! Show some respect here! Y'don't just toss Jo in there like a bag of sand! Ay, dios!"

Running a hand through her hair, Anna swallowed hard as she finished wrapping the body of a deceased male hunter. The war was over, but it was of little comfort to those who survived. Kylie was busy yelling at the rest of her crew for carelessly dumping Jo Harvelle's corpse in the back of Jack's truck and Zerachiel was... hovering. In seventeen years, she'd apparently forgotten about personal space and Anna was just too heartbroken to care.

"This one is ready." Zerachiel said flatly, watching as Anna moved to the next body and fell to her knees.

"Oh, God..." Anna rasped as she swallowed the bile rising in her throat. "Bobby..."

"He went down fighting. There were just too many demons, and then he tried to kill one of Lucifer's lieutenants. It was quick, he did not feel a thing."

Fingers curled into a tight fist, she slammed it into the ground as the tears fell onto the body of Bobby Singer. "Zerachiel... don't. Talk. Just don't." Shifting the body, Anna began to delicately wrap her friend's body for transport while thinking of how she was going to tell her daughter that 'Grandpa Bobby' is dead. Losing Jo and Ellen was hard enough, but Bobby? Bobby was there for her throughout her pregnancy and he was one of the only consistent male figures in Isabella's life. This was going to break her heart.

"Anna, your phone is making strange noises."

Placing a soft kiss on Bobby's forehead, Anna clambered to her feet and stepped away to let Kylie and the others finish the preparations. "P-Put Bobby with Ellen and Jo. He'd want that." Rubbing her face, she answered her phone quietly, "Morasca."

"Mom?"

"Isabella? What's wrong?"

"N-Nothing really? I mean, I'm not hurt or anythin'..."

"Damnit, people! What the hell'd I just get done tellin' ya?! Bobby Singer is the best damn hunter to have ever lived. Ya can't treat his body like that!" Kylie screamed after a loud thud was heard and Anna sighed.

"Izzi, baby, this is a really bad time."

"Do you know a guy named John Bonham? About six-foot-two, around your age, green eyes, kinda perverted?"

Well, this got Anna's attention. "John Bonham? Like the drummer from Zeppelin?"

"I know, right? That's what I said. Anyway he's one of my patients in the ICU and he was pretty beat up but he freaked out when I told him my name. He kinda reminds me of someone but I don't know who and..."

Whatever Isabella was rambling about after that was lost, because Anna was about to cry. Again. It had been fourteen years since she'd last seen Dean Winchester and now he was alive? And in Manhattan, nonetheless? Wait, Anna. You don't know that it's him. You have to investigate first, freak out later. "I-Isabella. What's his room number?"

"You do know him. How? Why does he seem so familiar? Is he a cop? Is he one of dad's 'associates'?"

"Isabella Adriana Morasca-Winchester! What is his room number?!"

"I-It's ICU236. Mom, are you okay?"

Taking a moment to just breathe, Anna nodded. "I'll be fine, sweetheart. I'm just-- a little busy taking care of some business with Auntie Kylie."

"...This is about what happened upstate, isn't it? Zera told me it was bad."

"Yeah," She sighed, "It's... really bad. I have to leave for a few days, Izzi. I talked to Jess and Don, and you're gonna stay with them and Haley while I'm gone. I don't want you home alone."

"Mom, you're scarin' me. What's goin' on?"

"Isabella..." Shit. Now her voice was cracking. "A lot of my friends didn't make it. The Harvelles are dead. And... God, and... Bobby. Bobby's dead, sweetheart." There was a long pause at the end of the line followed by muffled crying and Anna's stomach just twisted and she hung up the phone.

"Anna..."

"Leave her be, Angeldust." Kylie said softly as she placed a firm hand on the archangel's shoulder. "Leave her be."

I can feel your pain - RP for likely_evil & hasperkynipples

It was another typical, boring night with the loft to herself while her siblings were out living their lives. Anna was stuck inside like a caged animal, spiraling downward into her own Hell more and more each day. And while she had the occasional nagging feeling that bit at her from time-to-time, the one she had tonight was by far the worst.

"DEAN! SAM!" She screamed out in fear as she fell to her knees and doubled over in pain, clutching at her chest with her left hand while she tried to control her breathing. Something was wrong. This wasn't like the time when Jo and Ellen were killed. This was much worse than anything she'd ever felt before.

Crawling to the table where her cell was, she gritted her teeth and reached out to knock it down to the floor where she was and managed to hit Dean's number on speeddial. Voicemail.

Sam's number. A few rings, then voicemail. She tried three times and when there was no answer, she got to her feet and called the Crime Lab.

"Adam. I need you to get me a trace on Sam's phone. I don't have time to explain. Just do it." Anna nearly threw her phone at the wall when all she got was a 10-mile radius pointing to some small hicktown in southern Iowa. But it would have to do for now. Gathering her gun holster, knives, and ammo, she got dressed and grabbed her old fake ID's.

"ZERACHIEL!"

The lights flickered for a moment as the energy shifted in the room and Anna turned around to find the blonde vessel of the Archangel Zerachiel standing before her, looking concerned. "Anna?"

"Something's wrong. I can feel it. I need you to take me to Iowa."

"Anna, you are in no shape to be leaving the protection of your home."

Stomping angrily, she spat back, "Damnit if you won't do it, I'll find some other way!"

Face twitching in disapproval, the angel sighed heavily and touched her fingertips to the insistent woman's forehead. They had searched half a dozen motels and came up with nothing until their search brought them to a motel a little further off the traveled path.

"That's his Impala. They're here, Zi." Adjusting her sling, Anna nearly ran into the motel and shoved a photo of Sam and Dean in the desk worker's face. Once she got the room number, she all but dragged the angel down the hallway with her and began to dig for her lock-picking set. But when the door slowly opened on it's own she stopped fidgeting and drew her gun.

"Why I need to pick the lock when I have an angel is beyond me." She muttered to herself as she slipped into the room and quietly closed the door behind her.

"Sam? Dean?"

justprompts That there, that's not me...

It was supposed to be a quick stop at the bank to deposit her paycheck before her shift at the precinct. Five, ten minutes tops. But as she stood at the kiosk in the corner filling out her deposit slip, a sinking feeling in the pit of her stomach caused her to look up.

There were five men stationed around the building attending to their own business, but upon closer inspection it came to her attention that they all kept nodding and making eye contact. This was not looking good.

Slipping her hand discreetly into the pocket of her jeans, Anna pulled out her Blackberry and carefully planted it under the kiosk and activated her Bluetooth, dialing the first number that came to mind.

muse_shuffle Prompt 2.3.2 - Waiting on an angel

[Set after 4.22 - Lucifer Rising and is related to THIS. Zerachiel (archangelhealer) used with permission. Bobby Singer and Anna Milton not binding to any current muses. Castiel (soldier_ofgod), Dean (hasperkynipples), and Sam (likely_evil) mentioned without permission but with love.]

"The world won't turn until something breaks/Who will make the first last mistake?/Good things come to those who wait/But I can't wait." -Bruised, The Bens

"This is Dean. I'm not here right now, leave a message." Pushing the END button on her Blackberry, Anna resisted the urge to toss the phone into the Hudson. This was the tenth time this week that all three phones - Dean's, Sam's, and Bobby's - had gone straight to voicemail everytime she called. Red wasn't responding to her calls and Castiel was nowhere to be found (not that he ever showed up when she called anyway).
