Welcome to the YST/Ronin Warriors drabble community!

If truth be told, a drabble is a piece of writing that is exactly 100 words long. This is mentioned mostly to stop the inevitable emails with ‘that isn’t a drabble!’ We know, however, we have been spoiled by another group that has a 300 word limit- and thus are using the term loosely. That being said, we proudly bring you the first Yoroiden Samurai Trooper drabble community, and we encourage you to join and share.

Your moderators into this adventure are:

Kyo-chan ~ kyofujimiya ~ Email: kyo-chan[at]westerncom[dot]net
Lady Karasu ~ lady_karasu ~ Email: yst[at]ladykarasu[dot]com

Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions! We really do try not to bite. ~.^ (Most of the time)

We welcome anyone who wishes to join, that includes those that just want to read or those that want to contribute. No matter what your preference, we’re all for spreading the YST love.

However keep in mind that flamers will be warned and then banned from posting in the community. Only constructive criticism will be allowed here, and if you can’t respect other people’s perspectives and writing styles, you don’t belong in a writing community.

No forum is without some guidelines [*cough* stick to the Code], so here are the rules of the community:

~”Drabbles” can be up to 300 words in length and are at the discretion of the author. If your piece runs a little long, that’s ok- post it anyway, but be aware that you are out of the running for the contest on that piece. Sorry, we gotta stick with that one- having a limit is part of the challenge.

~We accept all genres of writing, including het, shounen-ai, yaoi, yuri, and gen.

~The challenge system works as such: A topic is posted. People write for that topic (this is where you come in…) whoever posted the topic, picks the winner of the challenge that week. The winner picks the topic for the next week. See how simple, and relaxed it is? (We’re lazy mods…)

~Challenges will be posted on Tuesdays and will close on Monday. This gives the topic poster a little time to select a winner, and time for that winner to select a new topic. More drabbles will be accepted in the time period between challenges, however, they will not be considered for that weeks winner because... well, it gotta end sometime. Please only post to the current challenge if competing, and pay attention to what the challenge is asking of its authors. If you are NOT competing, you may post anything (short) that you want. ^_^

~Anything YST is accepted. This includes the American release of the anime [also known as Ronin Warriors], the OAVs, and the drama CDs.

~Please do not do crossovers unless they are specifically requested in the challenge. This is very important, since this is a YST community, we’d appreciate it being YST-centric.
Original characters are allowed, but please use discretion and moderation, since we want the YST characters to be the focus, not the OC. If we find that OC posting gets out of hand, we will eliminate that as an option from the rules.

~We do not accept off-topic posts. They will be deleted.

~All drabbles should be able to stand alone. If you have any sequels or prequels, you may add the link to the drabble you’re referencing in the basic information.

~We would appreciate that all drabbles be posted to the community and not linked to your LJ. This way, your writing is saved to the community should something happen to your journal.

~Do not edit the challenge at your discretion when you’re writing. If you have a problem with the current posted challenge, please let one of the moderators know.

~LJ cuts are our friends! Please try to post your drabbles under them out of consideration to their friends lists. If you have more than one drabble or it’s explicit beyond PG-13, it is required to be under an LJ cut. This allows readers the option of not having to read something that may squick them. Use your best judgment and be considerate of your audience. ^_^

~We have no limits on how many times you can post! Please spam us! Besides, the more you write, the more chances you have of winning.

~Important Note for Weekly Winners: Drabble winners will be announced on Monday evening, and a link posted to the piece of writing they won with. After this announcement, the winner has until Tuesday morning to post the next challenge. If you cannot make it in a reasonable amount of time, we will have to make a new challenge on our own. We understand that sometimes, time gets in the way. But to keep from holding up the others, we will need to keep the community running on its schedule.

~Lastly, nothing’s stopping anyone from emailing one of the moderators and suggesting challenges (for those cases mentioned above). We appreciate the ideas, and if someone can’t come up with something in time, at least we’ll have something to fall back on.

Remember! We are friendly mods, and if you have any suggestions on how to make the community run smoother or better, or have a complaint…whatever it is…please email us and let us know! (Only one of us bites- if you’re lucky, you wont get her… no we’re not telling who)
