At Easter dinner my husband's aunt's friend (who works for an estate sale company) told me that I should go to an estate sale a few towns north that would take place last weekend. The person made rugs for a living and was very crafty in general so there was loads of yarn and fabric in beautiful condition. I was very restrained and just grabbed a few balls of yarn and a 2 yard piece of groovy fabric. I also got a really nice green men's jacket from the 90s. I have long arms, broad shoulders, and not much hips so I find "men's" clothes sometimes fit me better.
Then on Sunday we had a party for Star Wars day and had some former coworkers, a cousin, and one of my husband's grad school friends over to watch the 4K77 version of A New Hope. My husband loves hosting and cooking for big groups of people so we had nachos, hot dogs, movie theater candy, soft pretzels, and a veggie tray. Sven, as usual, wanted to impress the guests and put on a big show strutting around, rubbing on everyone legs, playing exuberantly with his toys, etc. He is a ham.
I've been working on a big crocheted throw for my husband's aunt/uncle because they are moving to Chicago from Des Moines. They last moved c.1985 so while they are excited, it has been stressful for them. I asked his aunt her favorite color and she said bright yellow. I can't even remember the last time I used a sunshine yellow yarn so that has been a fun project. Please enjoy this photo of Sven borrowing the throw in progress, sleeping with his little tongue out :)
