Program Notes
This popular Bela Fleck tune clocks in at 225 beats per minute with an upbeat cut-time feel which moves in and out through some advanced meter changes. It is scored for nine performers playing xylophone/bells, two vibraphone parts, three marimbas (one sharing two players), timpani and drum set. Multiple meters are constantly explored throughout this very advanced composition.
This arrangement first premiered at the DCI Individual & Ensemble Competition by the Santa Clara Vanguard Percussion Ensemble.
