Program Notes
Each of the four players sits on the floor and drums on the floor surface with snare drum sticks. While the rhythms are straightforward and would be accessible to younger as well as more experienced ensembles, the accents, stick clicks (including striking the sticks of adjacent players) and movements (leaning forward and to the sides) must be well coordinated for the best possible effect.
