Program Notes
Feast has influences of Irish music (the harmonic and melodic style) and African music (using African bell patterns and polyrhythms). It is an Irish-African jig with a bit of blues influence in the middle unison section. Near the end of the piece the players sing one of Bill Douglas's Vocal Rhythm Etudes.
