Christopher Artau
Biography
Christopher Artau (b. 12 September 2004, Miami, Fla.) is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, arranger, and educator based in Miami, Fla.
Composing and arranging since the early age of 14, Mr. Artau writes for an eclectic range of groups from concert band and jazz ensemble to marching band and indoor winds. He has been recognized by the Florida Bandmaster’s Association and the Florida Music Education Association, won the FBA 2021 Composition Contest, works closely with middle and high school band programs, and is an active designer and educator within the Florida Marching Band Coalition, the Florida Federation of Colorguards Circuit, and Winter Guard International.
During the outdoor and indoor pageantry seasons, Chris works closely with schools in the Broward and Miami-Dade areas to design, write, and teach competitive marching productions, of which many have been able to place favorably in Florida state finalist positions. For his chamber ensemble, concert band, and jazz ensemble works, Chris consults and holds clinics with groups playing his music nationwide. Chris also collaborates with independent musical projects and has been able to premiere works with organizations such as the Miami Wind Symphony Community Brass Choir and the Brass Institutes of America.
In addition, Chris also enjoys creating tracks of electronic music and film-like music. He actively looks to compose for short films and occasionally releases sound design tracks.
