Program Notes
In his piece Balladair, Mr. Erickson combines traditionally beautiful melodic and harmonic elements to create his work for wind band. This piece is written to emulate a modern dance style at the time. Its form, A-A–B-C-A, adds one additional section to what would typically be heard in dance music forms at the time.
