Biography
Reginald Frank Doherty was a British tennis player and four-time winner of Wimbledon. He competed at the Olympics twice, winning the doubles and mixed doubles at the 1900 Games in Paris, and winning the doubles at the 1908 Games in London.
He was born in 1872 in Wimbledon, London.[1] He was the eldest son of William Doherty and his wife Catherine Ann Davis, and the elder brother of tennis player Lawrence Doherty.
He was educated Westminster School and the University of Cambridge.
He died in 1910, aged 38, at his home in Kensington.[2]
He and his brother Lawrence were inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 1980.
