  1. Disney didn’t kill the EU.
  2. The EU hasn’t died unless you and everyone else let it die.
  3. Lucasfilm made the decision to create new stories.

Get to know these facts.

I spent a good minute staring at this trying to work out how Disney could possibly kill the European Union.

good thing about visiting comic people is snooping through their bookshelves and reading stuff you don't have!!! these are the comics i have read this weekend :3

The Well - i have been wanting to read this, and it did not dissappoint me! it's a crunchy little story in the shape of a fairytale. the art is beautiful and satisfying.

A Boy named Rose - this is a comic i have been wanting to read for a very long while, and i worry i would have enjoyed it better in the past. the art and visuals and paneling is absolutely gorgeous. the story is very cozy breezy. i appreciate that it's a story that doesn't pin down the gender question, and that the focal relationship is very Secret Third Thing. very much the kind of story i needed when i was younger, but not the story i want right now. the characters are just soooo beautiful and magnetic and kind to the point of flawlessness, which is mostly annoying to me at this point in time.

Malatona when it rains - this is actually a webcomic i have had open in a tab for A While but haven't read until now. this took several sit downs to get through. it is DENSE. it is non-magical fantasy politics. it only gets more and more miserable. and it ruuuules. i Had to keep reading. there are so many threads and it's all woven together into such a masterful tapestry. maybe i'm not doing a good job of selling it but i know some freaks out there want to read about the violence of bureaucracy and old man yaoi and be slapped in the face with a sudden ending. this is your sign

On 20th August 1991 hundreds of Estonians stood unarmed to defend Tallinn TV tower from the Soviet tanks during August coup.

Tallinn TV tower was Estonia’s primary broadcast tower - Estonians’ only source of information to outside world.

you know when you get Autism Mad. like something happens in a non-ideal way and in your brain you know it literally doesnt matter but in your other more autistic brain youre like screaming & scrying & shitting the bed etc. i think you should be able to go into settings and opt out of that. i have better things to get upset about than failing to put up a decoration on the optimal day or being too stubborn to solve a problem via simple communication

This is the funniest new thing I’ve learned today about the Swedish/Danish cultural exchange.

The Swedes have these adorable cakes called Prinsesstårta aka Princess Cakes.

When I saw this I thought “Oh! I know those! We have the same thing here in Denmark!”

The same thing? These beauties.

I persent to you, the Kajkage aka Kaj Cake. They’re smaller but pretty much made of the same ingredients and they have fan clubs dedicated to finding the ugliest versions at bakeries. They’re named after the frog Kaj from an old children’s show.

I have a strong suspicion some Dane saw a Prinsesstårta and thought “If I added eyes and a mouth…”

OP you can't just say this and then not show us the really ugly ones

As you wish

someone accused me of feigning a sexual attraction to spiders for clout. there's easier ways to get clout, man.....

Someone once called my 22 minute hand sewn 18th century buttonhole tutorial video "Empty, clout driven content" so I think some people will just say anything.

Had a soul-searing moment where I sat unblinking trying to figure out what a "hand sewn 18th century butthole" could be for, until I read that again.

All this discourse over who does "painting with light"

Hiroshi Nagai's paintings need sunglasses to look at.

They look like how it feels to walk across a parking lot on a 98° summer day without a speck of shade in sight.

They look like heaven but also like you'd burn your bare feet on the ground.

Even when you can see shade you know it's not enough and the minute you step out you'll be burnt to a crisp like a vampire.

And it's BEAUTIFUL

I'll throw in the wonderful Eizin Suzuki into this ring too, a man whose work just breathes light without actually using dynamic lighting in the usual way. It's no surprise both Nagai and Suzuki are both considered prolific in art pertaining to the city pop genre because they're able to paint these kinds of scenes with a delicate touch.

This feels like I could trip on that radio and fall right into that water, feeling the crystal waves as I drop in.

And this, a nice stroll down a resort strip, where my sunscreened skin could literally feel cooked if I leaned too close to the tiling.

And then a nice stretch of summer street, wherein you could see your face in the flushed red of that car provided it didn't blind you from its sunny reflections.

I don't think I even need to say anything more, Suzuki's a massive influence in how he even places colours so warmly in such unorthodox manner. It's a naturally sunkissed talent~ 🌊
