Calibime (c-alibi-m)

A neoumbrella surrounding the subgenre of action thrillers that can be described as “doing crime and looking good doing it”, often regarding espionage and hitmen. Particularly represented in the John Wick films, Daniel Craig’s James Bond films, Inside Man (2006), Ocean’s 11, the Bourne films (to a degree), and the tv show Alias (to a degree).

The themes surrounding this neoumbrella (one does not need to identify with all of them) are:

- glamour, opulence, modernity

- being the criminal, getting away with it

- guns and knives, one-on-one combat

- heists, espionage, infiltration, assassination

- illegal services for hire / that have been hired

- underworlds, either ran by the government or hiding from them, unknown to the general public

- romanticized crime

- fast cars, fast motorbikes, chase sequences using these vehicles

- crisp, clean suits and tight, short dresses

- alcohol, fancy cocktails

- glittering lights in the nighttime

- urban or big city settings

- breaking into places one shouldn’t be (especially large buildings)

- blood spattered across surfaces

- getting cocky, confidence, adrenaline rushes

- card games, gambling, western playing cards as motifs/symbolism

- competition, rivalry, revenge

- lost (as in killed) lovers, reminiscing on tender memories, feeling the ache of loss, for others and for how you have lost yourself

- bosses, organization leaders, or other people who are “bad guys”, a little mysterious, and hold an enormous amount of power

- the feeling of (or just the concept of) holding an enormous amount of power/leverage

Violomoric (vy-lo-morick)

A modifier for romantic attraction, where one feels the need, prefers, or otherwise wants to express their romantic attraction and affection for someone by being physically violent to them.

A violomoric individual may express their violomorhood by…

- asking the object of their affection if they can be physically violent with them

- being violent in other ways (like verbally, for instance) or flirting with the express purpose of arousing their partner’s victomoric attraction

- engaging in physical combat practice with them (ie. sparring, boxing, having a martial arts match)

- or in more unexpected ways like giving the object of their affection a tattoo or piercing.

This term is only intended for consensual instances of violence, which includes cnc dynamics. However, the term is not exclusive to kink.

Victomoric (vickto-morick)

A modifier for romantic attraction, where one feels the need, prefers, or otherwise wants to express their romantic attraction and affection for someone by being subject to their physical violence.

A victomoric individual may express their victomorhood by…

- asking the object of their affection to be physically violent to them

- irritating or flirting with them with the express purpose of inciting their violence

- engaging in physical combat practice with them (ie. sparring, boxing, having a martial arts match)

- or in more unexpected ways like allowing the object of their affection to tattoo them or give them a piercing.

How are violomoric and victomoric different from similar terms?

These labels, particularly violomoric, are pretty similar to aggressive attraction(link) and aggroamoric(link).

What makes these distinct from aggressive attraction is that they are modifiers to romantic attraction. Aggressive attraction is a standalone fragarian orientation, while violomoric and victomoric attractions are intertwined with romanticism. I consider this distinction important enough to warrant its own term; I think it’s similar to how someone might want to use the label sakuric(link) instead of saying they feel familial, romantic, and sexual attraction to someone, to emphasize how the attractions are intertwined.

As for aggroamoric, the term describes behaviour that would typically incite the ire/anger/displeasure of another. A violo/victomoric individual could experience their attraction as causing anger or displeasure, but it could also be experienced as enjoyable.

Yeah, our gender. We’re collectively genderless and that of course spreads to me too. I’ll actually talk about myself for this one. I’m a little bit genderless, whatever that means. It’s kind of like instead of a wall my gender is a mesh screen. My semi-genderlessness is neutrality-colored, so I just call myself neutrois and the rest is implied. Or not. I don’t particularly care if it is.

Overall, I think most of us hold some sort of disconnect one way or another (I broke my own rules I’m talking about the collective again yay): for some of us it’s gender disconnect, some of us are aplatonic, asexual, aromantic, other kinds of aspec, a lot of us are low-to-no empathy and/or sympathy. I could probably make a joke about us evening out into being disconnected from everything and not existing if I knew how to word it well. Oops, that’s the joke.

We’re from the New England region of the United States. The area’s coastal, mostly left-wing barring some rural areas, it’s easy for me to be in touch with nature and the like. Being around water and nature has taught us to love both, and we used to have a lot of xenogenders related to the two things before we syscovered. The Roostkeeper, who still exists and was our collective identity until we fell apart, considers himself to have a storm for a soul, and deeply connects with the native biomes to our area. We’re collectively Vast-aligned due to our proximity to clear (night) skies and open ocean.

New England is known for being pretty progressive, and the safety we were able to feel at a young age allowed us to explore our identity at a young age. We first came out as transgender at 11. If we didn’t know we could feel this way, or that it was okay to feel this way, who knows how long it would have taken.

We grew up going to Sunday school at my/our synagogue, and being Jewish has definitely affected the way we identify. I’m pretty sure we might be a condigender-flavoured woman, so only woman in the context of Judaism— for prayers and religious ceremonies and the like.

Besides the skin color of our body, there is nothing it really has in common with me. I’m tall, I have white hair, and I’m more masculine. The body is short, has brown hair, and is quite feminine. This all makes me feel more dysphoric, as compared to the others, who mostly feel complacent with or embrace the body. I make more of an effort to present and dress masculinely. Whereas other headmates may feel a slight disconnect from gender due to our collective gender-incompatibility, I find that my connection to manhood has actually strengthened due to the visual discrepancy between me and the body’s appearances. As far as I’m aware, I’m the only one in the system who feels like this.

Roostkeeper answers:

I am alterhuman. The entire system is, actually. We’re physically nonhuman, in that we are a canine holothere. Not all of us identify as dogs, just as alters in a bodily human system might not all identify as human. I however do identify as a canine, more specifically a german shepherd.

I call my humanoid appearance an avatar, and this bleeds over to the body as well. I am a dog, fully and completely, but it’s conveyed through this form instead of literally looking like a german shepherd. Instead of detaching me from the body, I find it makes me and the body detach from everything else. I feel this humanoid body is very distinctly different from other humans, not quite the same, although it appears as such.

I do lots of things in this body to make myself feel closer to my doghood. I’ve started referring to my hands as my paws, my face as my muzzle. I bounce my leg or swing it to imitate a wagging tail. I grumble and huff when I’m tired or irritated, and I love to have my hair pet by friends and family who are willing to do so. I often wish for a romantic partner who could also be my handler or a caretaker, in order to feel more perceived and treated like a dog. I don’t even know what a handler-dog relationship would look like— if all they did was give me scooby snacks after a doctor’s visit or scratched me behind the ears, I’d be pretty happy.

The Chalice answers:

I came into this world from another one as someone who is not human. Yeah, I’m alterhuman. I am a vampire and a fae, an unholy mix that has left me both scarred and better than ever. The body I’m in now is familiar to me, for more reasons than one, but I feel oftentimes I am missing something, some part of me, literally and metaphorically. I used to have innards that were body horror incarnate— strange organs with esoteric, magical functions, eyes and teeth and bones and flesh in strange shapes, in sinews and branches and rippling waves. I had multiple sets of veins, and with them multiple kinds of fluid powering me. Teal blood, something glittering and gold, and a cold milky white liquid hiding the furthest inside. I also no longer have my magic, which made my appearance and the world around me contort in frightening or delightful ways.

I spend a great deal of time in the sunshine, in nature, and around wildlife, in order to feel closer to what I once was. Being what people today call a psyvamp, or a psychic vampire, I feel drained when I’m not around people. I need to join conversations, have their attention, and even at times their admiration in order to function like a normal person. When I am fueled by these things, it brings back feelings of what it was like in my old body, my right body. It’s euphoric.

Being no longer human and having spent time as a creature away from the gender binary, I still feel separate from it. I identify as a nonbinary woman, feel as if I only scrape the tips of my fingers against womanhood when I try to reach for it. When I hold my womanhood, it’s in the haze of nonbinity (am I using that right?), reaching blindly through a thicket to hold the womanhood that is blossoming on its innermost branches.

Ethengyo (Eth-en-gyo)

A xenogender related to the delicacy of goldfish’s fins. This is the only integral idea, but some additional concepts a user could also connect to are goldfish, goldfish colors, light red, white and fluffiness, bubbles, pearls, the delicate texture of sheer fabrics, pink ribbons, airiness, and delicacy.

Opulume (opp-you-loom)

A xenogender related to light-colored smoke or steam and sunlight filtered through it. This is the only integral idea, but some additional concepts a user could also connect to are martinis, pearls, the word haze (whatever feeling that evokes for the user), distant glittering/gleaming, the blurring and light blooming on objects in cameras that aren’t in focus, long white gloves, cigarette holders, and shades of light grey and light yellowish grey.

A xenogender related to vibrant underwater flora and fauna in a freshwater environment, bright blues and greens, the sparkling of sunlight shining down through the water, and the aesthetics of healthy freshwater biospheres.
