I love the idea of them both getting invited to some gala - probably as a means of representing the the school - but neither have danced in a while so they agree to help the other practice and of course it means a bit more than it was supposed to.

Not technically soulmate related but it reminded me of it - I love the headcanon that when a fire elemental is born there's a fire crystal that's tied to them, which glows alongside their heartbeat. What's done with these depends on the family - some are very protective and keep theirs all together in one tightly locked place. But for others it's common practice to have them made into jewelry - specifically some people make them into wedding rings. You can see where this is going lol.
