Welcome to the GLOW Corporate Cup, a 5K team race to benefit the Genesee, Livingston, Orleans, and Wyoming (GLOW) YMCA.

The goal of this event is for local businesses to form racing teams, compete in a fun atmosphere, and crown a winner of the Corporate Cup. Following the race is AfterGLOW, the region’s largest “office party.” We encourage companies to set up tents, bring refreshments, and prepare to have a good time at this major networking function.

Proceeds from this event support the YMCA’s mission to promote youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility throughout the GLOW region.  At the YMCA, no child, family, adult or senior is ever turned away due to financial hardship.  In 2025, the GLOW YMCA provided over $125,000 serving 852 children, families, adults and seniors across Genesee, Livingston, Orleans and Wyoming counties.

Coneflower Festival draws festive summer shoppers to Norton's Chizzelwood in Alexander

The third annual Coneflower Festival brought dozens of local crafters, food vendors and live music to Norton's Chizzelwood on Saturday.

The outdoor craft and vendor show, held at 4309 Gilhooly Road in Alexander, featured more than 40 local crafters and artisans, along with food trucks, ice cream, a kids' play zone, basket raffles and live music.

The festival takes its name from the coneflower, which blooms in July and is also featured in the property owner's garden.

Proceeds from the event benefit local nonprofits, including Crossroads House, Gateway House, the Alzheimer's Association and the Autism Nature Trail.

The festival is held on the grounds of Norton's Chizzelwood, a women-owned business that builds handmade woodcrafts, small cabinetry and outdoor furniture. The property's on-site gift shop also sells custom, handcrafted and Amish-made gifts.
