Welcome to the Office of Financial Aid at Morgan State University. Here you will find information on the different ways to connect with us as well as the types of financial aid available, how to apply for financial aid, eligibility, tools and resources for financial success. We are here to assist and guide you and your family through the process.
We are here to help you navigate the application process and explore the options available to help you pay for college. Our office is open Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm except when the university is closed. You can visit us in person, call us, or email us.
Investing in Your Future
Furthering your education is an investment. CollegeBoard found that in 2018, the average income of full-time workers with a bachelor's degree was 61% higher than their peers with only a high school diploma. ScholarshipUniverse is Here!
We are pleased to announce we will begin using ScholarshipUniverse as Morgan State University's scholarship-matching tool for admitted and current students. ScholarshipUniverse connects Morganites to millions of dollars in internal and external scholarships. It allows students to create personalized profiles to match them with scholarships tailored to their background, talents, area of study, and other criteria. Available June 1st!
We have started processing financial aid for students admitted for Fall 2026 for the 2026-2027 academic year!
All current returning Undergraduate and Graduate students will be awarded for 2026-2027 in mid June after spring grades have been posted. Once spring grades are posted the financial aid office will determine your eligibility based on your Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) status, classification, and fund limits.

Please find below some helpful tips and information to help assist you with the 2026-2027 FAFSA application. We are here to support you every step of the way!

Create or reconfirm your Studentaid.gov Account (Previously known as FSA ID). Every contributor (student, parent, spouse) who needs to provide information on the FAFSA needs a Studentaid.gov Account (Previously known as FSA ID). This includes the student, the student's parents or stepparents (if the student is a dependent), and the student's spouse (if applicable).

All contributors (student, parent, spouse) on the FAFSA must provide consent to share their tax information with the IRS. If the student, spouse,or parent, does not provide consent on the FAFSA the student will not be eligible for any federal aid.

Future Act Direct Data Exchange (FADDX)- In 2026-2027, the FADDX authorizes the IRS to provide federal tax information directly to the FAFSA application upon receiving consent. Consent is mandatory for transferring federal tax information from the IRS and determining the student’s aid eligibility. If a student or contributor does not provide consent, the student will be ineligible for any federal aid

Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) Appeal- Monday, April 27, 2026
PLEASE NOTE: You must submit the required SAP appeal and supporting documents by Monday, April 27, 2026 or risk becoming ineligible for federal aid for the Spring 2026 semester.
Missing Financial Aid Documents- Monday, April 27, 2026
We encourage students to log into WebSIS to review their financial aid checklist for any outstanding documents. Missing required documentation could be preventing the disbursement and/or processing of your financial aid. Most forms may be accessed from the Financial Aid forms webpage. Please understand you must submit the required documents by Monday, April 27, 2026 or risk becoming ineligible for a portion or all of your federal aid.
Offered Loan- Friday, May 08, 2026
PLEASE NOTE: If you desire to borrow federal student loans for the Spring 2026 semester, you must accept the loans via self-service by Friday, May 08, 2026. Any federal loans not accepted by this date will be canceled. If you accept the Federal Direct Student Loan(s), please be mindful that a Master Promissory Note and Entrance Counseling is required for the funds to be disbursed. Please be sure to complete these steps as well, if you have not already done so.
Parent PLUS and Graduate PLUS Loan- Monday, May 11, 2026
Dependent students' parents who plan to apply for a Federal Parent PLUS loan for the Spring 2026 semester or Graduate students who plan to apply for a Federal Graduate PLUS loan, must do so by Monday, May 11, 2026. Any PLUS loan application received after this date may forfeit eligibility for processing due to required processing time and regulations.
Federal Work Study Students - Tuesday, May 12, 2026 & Tuesday, May 26, 2026
The last day of work for Federal Work Students is Tuesday, May 12, 2026.
Last date to submit a timesheet is Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at 5p.m.
Summer Aid - Session I/Full Summer Deadline: Monday, June 01,2026 & Session II Deadline: Thursday, July 09, 2026
Students registering for Summer 2026 courses, may be eligible for certain types of financial aid for summer courses taken toward their degree program. Summer Aid applications must be submitted by the deadline for the session the student is enrolled in for summer. Please ensure your application is submitted on time to avoid any issues and check your MSU email for processing updates.
