The ACGOC comprises multiple graphite deposits hosted within Paleoproterozoic metasedimentary rocks in the Dunhuang Block, northwestern China. These deposits are primarily composed of amphibolites, marbles, mica-schists, quartzites, TTG gneisses, granitic gneisses, garnet-bearing amphibolites, and paragneisses, exhibiting metamorphic characteristics from greenschist facies to upper amphibolite facies. The ore-bearing strata of the ACGOC are all within the Dunhuang Group. The ore-bearing lithology mainly consists of two-mica quartz schist, as well as minor amount of marble and biotite plagioclase gneiss. The lithology of the country rock of the orebody is the same.
