About Plagioclase
Formula:
(Na,Ca)[(Si,Al)AlSi2]O8
Member of:
In petrology, the plagioclase series are defined based on their percentage of the two end-members albite (Ab) to anorthite (An). Compositions of individual samples are usually written as An24Ab76 meaning in this case that it is a solid-solution member consisting of 24% anorthite and 76% albite.
