Los Angeles is the most populous city of the US state of California, and the second-most populous city in the United States. The city has made a few appearances in the Super Mario franchise.

HistoryEdit

Saturday SupercadeEdit

Los Angeles is the setting of the Saturday Supercade episode "Movie Mania." It is the location of Golden Studios, which features lead actor Flint Westwood and co-star Clovis. During the events of the episode, Flint briefly fires Clovis for causing his last three films to bomb at the box office, replacing him with Donkey Kong when he jumps into the movie studio when escaping Mario and Pauline, but rehires him towards the end of the episode after realizing that he had underestimated his passion for acting.

King Koopa's Kool KartoonsEdit

In the intro for the show, King Koopa, his pet Ratso and his Troopas are seen walking on a Los Angeles street, heading towards a television studio.

Wario's WarehouseEdit

In the E3 2003 editions of Wario's Warehouse, Wario travels to Los Angeles to attend and report on that year's Electronic Entertainment Expo convention. Expecting high-class transportation and lodging, he instead is forced to travel to the city via "a lift on a fishing trawler" from Antarctica, staying in a caravan once he arrives. However, he manages to secure first-class seating on his flight back from Los Angeles, owed to his large body type making it impossible for him to sit anywhere else on the plane.

Mario Kart seriesEdit

Mario Kart TourEdit

Los Angeles appears in Mario Kart Tour as the setting of the new course, Los Angeles Laps. It incorporates several landmarks, including the Santa Monica Pier, Inglewood Oil Field, Venice Beach, Dodger Stadium, and Beverly Hills.

Like all of Tour's city courses, Los Angeles Laps has multiple numbered routes that take racers through different paths through the same model of the city. Currently, the course has three routes. The first is Los Angeles Laps, which was introduced as the signature course of the 2020 Los Angeles Tour. The second is Los Angeles Laps 2, which was introduced as the signature course of the 2022 Los Angeles Tour. The third course, Los Angeles Laps 3, was added in the 2021 Los Angeles Tour and served as the tour's signature course.

Mario Kart 8 DeluxeEdit

Tour Los Angeles Laps returns as the first course in the Cherry Cup of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe's Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Booster Course Pass. This version combines features and routes from Los Angeles Laps, Los Angeles Laps 2, and Los Angeles Laps 3.
